Mawlawi Hanif Shah al-Hussaini was elected to represent Khost Province in Afghanistan's Wolesi Jirga, the lower house of its National Legislature, in 2005. [1]
A report on Khost prepared at the Navy Postgraduate School stated that he "was associated with Hezbi Islami, and possibly the Qanooni faction". [1] It stated that he was a member of the Pashtun ethnic group. It stated he was a high school graduate. It stated he sat on the Justice Committee.
Khost is one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan, located in the southeastern part of the country. Khost consists of thirteen districts and the city of Khost serves as the capital of the province. To the east, Khost Province is bordered by North Waziristan and Kurram, which are districts in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Historically, Khost used to be a part of Paktia, and the larger region surrounding Khost is still referred to as Loya Paktia.

Abdul Jabbar Naeemi is an Afghan diplomat and politician. He served as the governor of Laghman Province in Afghanistan, and before that was governor Khost province and Maidan Wardak province of Afghanistan. At one time he served as a representative from Kandahar Province to the Loya Jirga. In 2004 he was Hamid Karzai's election agent in Pakistan, where he campaigned for Karzai and worked on educating local Afghans about the democratic process.
Parliamentary elections were held in Afghanistan alongside provincial elections on 18 September 2005. Former warlords and their followers gained the majority of seats in both the lower house and the provincial council. Women won 28% of the seats in the lower house, six more than the 25% guaranteed in the 2004 constitution.
Khost wa Fereng or Khost wa Firing is the easternmost district of Baghlan province, Afghanistan in the Hindu Kush mountains. Its capital is Khost wa Fereng. The population of the district was estimated to be around 60,300 in 2011–2012, of which ethnic Tajiks made up 90% and Hazaras 10% of the total population. The district was part of Takhar Province until 1970.

The population is 36,300 (2006). The district center is the village of Musakhel in the northern part of the district.

The district center is the village of Spera, situated in the central part of the district.

The town is located within the heartland of the Zadran tribe of Pashtuns. During the US occupation of Afghanistan, Spera sat along a highly used smuggling route from Pakistan into Afghanistan. The area was known to harbor many ex-Taliban and Al Qaeda.

It borders Paktia Province to the west, Nadir Shah Kot District to the east and Spera District to the south. The population is 12,200 (2006). The district center is the village of Shamal, situated in the eastern part of the district. It was moved from Paktia Province.

Hajji Ameer Lali امیر لالی was elected to represent Kandahar Province in Afghanistan's Wolesi Jirga, the lower house of its National Legislature, in 2005. A report on Kandahar prepared at the Navy Postgraduate School stated he was a member of the Pashtun ethnic group, from the same Popolzai tribe as President Hamid Karzai. They stated he was a "demobilized local commander". He sits on the Armed Services Committee.
Mohammad Arif Noorzai was a former minister of Border and Tribe Affairs for Afghanistan. He was elected to represent Kandahar Province in Afghanistan's Wolesi Jirga, the lower house of its National Legislature, in 2005. He is the first deputy speaker of Afghanistan Wolesi Jirga and his current position is the Advisor of President Hamid Karzai for security and tribal affairs He is a member of the Pashtun ethnic group, and the Noorzai tribe. A report on Kandahar prepared at the Navy Postgraduate School stated he is first deputy speaker, and that he is related to President Hamid Karzai through marriage, and that he is a high school graduate.

A report on Khost prepared at the Navy Postgraduate School stated that he was a member of the Pashtun ethnic group. It stated he had a ninth grade education. It stated he was "associated with Hezbi Islami. It stated he sat on the Legislatures Communications Committee.
Sahira Sharif is an Afghan politician who was elected to represent Khost Province in Afghanistan's Wolesi Jirga, the lower house of its National Legislature, in 2005.
Major General Sayed Muhammad Gulabzoi is an Afghan politician. An ethnic Pashtun from the Zadran tribe, Gulabzoi was born in Paktia Province. An Air Force mechanic by training, he studied at the Air Force college. As an air force officer, he supported Daoud Khan's 1973 coup d'état which overthrew King Zahir Shah, for which he was rewarded with the position of Aide to the Air Force Commander. In 1976, he went to the Soviet Union to study radar technology.
Jamil Karzai Born Kandahar 1976 age 46.He was elected to represent Kabul Province in Afghanistan's Wolesi Jirga, the lower house of its National Legislature, in 2005. A report on Kabul prepared at the Navy Postgraduate School stated Jamil Karzai is a second cousin to President Hamid Karzai, President of Afghanistan. It stated he was head of the National Youth Solidarity Party. It stated he sat on the Internal Security Committee.
The Sulaimankhel, or Suleiman Khel, are a Pashtun sub-tribe of the Ghilji tribe of Bettani confederation of Pashtuns, Mostly Nomadic People. In the early 20th century, the tribe was recognised as generally pastoral.
