Johannes "Hans" Oerlemans (born October 8, 1950 in Eethen) [1] is a Dutch climatologist specialized in glaciology and sea level. [2] He has been a professor of meteorology in the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy at Utrecht University since 1989. [1] [3]
He was elected a member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1994. [4] In 2001 he won the Spinoza Prize. [5] In 2010 he was made a Knight of the Order of the Netherlands Lion [6] . In 2022 he was awarded the Balzan Prize for Glaciation and Ice Sheet Dynamics together with Dorthe Dahl-Jensen.
Nicolaas Bloembergen was a Dutch-American physicist and Nobel laureate, recognized for his work in developing driving principles behind nonlinear optics for laser spectroscopy. During his career, he was a professor at Harvard University and later at the University of Arizona and at Leiden University in 1973.

Johannes (Hans) Carolus Clevers is a Dutch molecular geneticist, cell biologist and stem cell researcher. He became the Head of Pharma, Research and Early Development, and a member of the Corporate Executive Committee, of the Swiss healthcare company Roche in 2022. Previously, he headed a research group at the Hubrecht Institute for Developmental Biology and Stem Cell Research and at the Princess Máxima Center; he remained as an advisor and guest scientist or visiting researcher to both groups. He is also a Professor in Molecular Genetics at the University of Utrecht.
Piet Gros is a Dutch chemist and professor biomacromolecular crystallography at Utrecht University. He was a winner of the 2013 Spinoza Prize, and was knighted in the Order of the Netherlands Lion in 2015.
Ineke Sluiter is a Dutch classicist and professor of Greek Language and Literature at Leiden University since 1998. Her research focuses on language, literature, and public discourse in classical antiquity. She was a winner of the 2010 Spinoza Prize. Sluiter has been president of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences since June 2020, and previously served as vice president from 2018 to 2020.
