Hans Petter Lundgaard (born 15 May 1935) is a Norwegian jurist born in Oslo.

Career

He was employed as a university lector at the University of Oslo from 1963, and took over as leader of the Norwegian Bureau for Insurance Disputes in 1971. [1] In 1973 the position of Norwegian Consumer Ombudsman was created. Inger Louise Valle held the position for many years, but while she was a member of the cabinet Nordli from 1976 to 1981 Lundgaard was acting Norwegian Consumer Ombudsman. Valle left in 1981, and Lundgaard got the job on a permanent basis. In 1986 he was appointed as a presiding judge (lagdommer) in the Eidsivating Court of Appeal, later moving to Borgarting. He retired in 2005. [1]

Olav Meisdalshagen was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party best known for serving as the Norwegian Minister of Finance from December 1947 to November 1951 and as the Norwegian Minister of Agriculture from January 1955 to May 1956. He was also a Member of Parliament for a long time, being elected for the first time in parliamentary election of 1936 and serving until his death, except for the period between 1940 and 1945 when the Parliament of Norway was de facto defunct due to the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany. Hans Johan Røsjorde is a Norwegian politician for the Progress Party. A former member of parliament specializing in defense matters, Røsjorde has resigned from active politics and served as County Governor of Oslo and Akershus from 2001 to 2011.

Jens Lauritz Arup Seip was a Norwegian historian originally trained as a medieval historian, but stood out as the strongest of his time in interpreting Norwegian political history in the 1800s, particularly known for having created the term "embedsmannsstaten". He was a professor at the University of Oslo from 1952 to 1975, he specialized in political history and the history of ideas. He was married to fellow historian Anne-Lise Seip. Seip's use of the Norwegian language and his writing style which numerous historians have described as brilliant, and often tried emulating. Seip was included among the 16 authors of " The Norwegian literary canon" from 1900 to 1960 and 2nd among 20 authors in a ranking of nonfiction writers conducted by Dagbladet in 2008.
