Hanson Records is an American independent record label founded in Brighton, Michigan and now based in Oberlin, Ohio. It is operated by the musician Aaron Dilloway, formerly of the band Wolf Eyes.
The label's first release was a 7-inch extended play (EP) by Dilloway's band Galen, in 1994. Eventually moving from Brighton, Michigan to Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 1997 it released the first Wolf Eyes recording, a self-titled cassette. [1] It has since released various other Wolf Eyes recordings as well as albums by Kevin Drumm, Smegma, Hive Mind, Nautical Almanac, Andrew Wilkes-Krier, Hair Police and, following a move to its current base in Oberlin, Ohio, Emeralds and Skin Graft. While releasing music on a variety of formats, including CD-R and LP, the majority of its releases are on cassette, and as such the label is often associated with cassette culture. Recordings for Hanson have low production costs and use low fidelity recording techniques, including recording live straight to cassette. [2]

Nihilist manages to separate itself from these labels due to its eclectic roster which spans the genres of neo-folk, acoustic, absurdist, musique concrete and dark disco. Founded in 1992 with the release of a two cassettes, though these are not featured in any official discographies making them all the more rare.

Wolf Eyes is an American experimental music group from Detroit, Michigan, formed in 1996 by Nate Young. Currently a duo, Wolf Eyes are a prominent act within contemporary noise music. They have collaborated with a variety of artists from different countries and art forms.
RRRecords is a record label and used and new record shop based in Lowell, Massachusetts. RRRecords is distinguished as being the first American record label to specifically publish underground noise music in the early 1980s, and published the first American vinyl by Merzbow, Masonna, The Hanatarash, Violent Onsen Geisha, and many more artists who have subsequently become well known in the world of noise music. In its first 20 years, RRR has issued hundreds of releases. The label's owner, Ron Lessard, is a tireless supporter of new artists, and created several sub-labels and series to specifically highlight unknown and underground musicians.

A founding member of the industrial noise group Wolf Eyes, Dilloway now resides in Oberlin, Ohio, where he runs Hanson Records and Mailorder.
