Harold Joseph Steele was Archdeacon of Waitemata from 1965 until 1972.

Steele was educated at St John's College, Auckland and ordained in 1936. After a curacy at Remuera he held incumbencies in Auckland, Waimate, Papatoetoe and Mount Eden. [1]

Frederick Steele Miller Murray was a New Zealand rugby union player. A forward, Murray represented Auckland at a provincial level, and was a member of the New Zealand national side in 1893 and 1897. He played 20 matches for New Zealand, but did not appear in any internationals as New Zealand did not play its first Test match until 1903.

The Steele Burnand Anza-Borrego Desert Research Center is a research center at the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in southern California. The facility is a spawn of the joint partnership between the University of California, Irvine, the Anza-Borrego Foundation, and the administration of the state park. UC Irvine originally had facilities on 3.75 acres of land in the area, and their reach was expanded by a 75-acre donation from the Anza-Borrego Foundation. The facility was formerly a country club. The complex includes a hall, two classrooms, a laboratory, and a kitchen. The area in which the facility is located receives 5-7 inches of rain per year.

William Frederick Peckham, better known as Tim Peckham was a New Zealand international rugby league player. He played 2 tests for New Zealand in 1928 becoming the 198th Kiwi in the process. He also played representative rugby league in the 1920s for Auckland, the sub unions of Lower Waikato, Hamilton, and South Auckland, and in 1926 and 1927 for the North Island. He played club rugby league for City Rovers, Huntly United, Athletic (Hamilton) Ponsonby United, and Richmond Rovers.

Mandy Steele is an American politician serving as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 33rd district. Elected in November 2022, she was sworn in on January 3, 2023.
