Heaven Is Waiting is the second studio album by English gothic rock band The Danse Society. It was released in December 1983, jointly by record labels Arista and Danse Society's own label, Society.

Heaven Is Waiting has been poorly received by professional critics. Trouser Press called the album "further plodding nonsense". [3] AllMusic wrote, "Heavy on gloomy atmosphere [...] but short on memorable songs, Heaven Is Waiting failed to deliver on the promise Danse Society displayed early in their career", though commenting that the album "isn't without interest." [2]

The Danse Society

The Danse Society are an English gothic rock band, formed in Barnsley in 1980. They were originally active until 1987, reforming in 2011. They achieved moderate success during their career. Their lineup included Steve Rawlings (vocals), Paul Nash (guitar), Lyndon Scarfe (keyboards), Timothy "Bez" Wright and Paul Gilmartin (drums). Scarfe was replaced by David Whitaker after the Heaven Is Waiting album.

The album was recorded over a period of three months in 1986, at Solid Bond Studios. The album is generally regarded as the culmination of the smoother, more adult-oriented sound of the band's later work. The Society (ex Danse Society)

The Society are an English gothic rock band, formed in Barnsley in 2014 after Paul Gilmartin, Martin Roberts and David Whitaker split from the reformed version of their previous band. The current lineup is Jonathan Cridford (vocals), Elliot Wheeler (guitar), Darran Guy (keyboards), Ade Clark and Paul Gilmartin (drums). Jonathan Cridford replaced Brian Jay in 2016. J. Cridford left after his last show with the band at the Gotham Sounds Fest in Germany. Paul Gregory of Expelaiers and 3,000 Revs replaced him on vocals. More guitar was added to the line up with the inclusion of David Wolfenden from Red Lorry Yellow Lorry. This line up opened the new version of Whitby Goth Weekend, now called Tomorrow's Ghost, in November 2018.

<i>Interstate</i> (album) 1995 studio album by Pell Mell

Interstate is the fifth album by American post-rock and instrumental rock band Pell Mell, released in 1995. After issuing Flow in 1991, the band members wrote new material separately, sending each other ideas, until more concrete ideas were becoming formed, leading to the band recording Interstate between two studios in 1993 and 1994. VI is the sixth studio album by English gothic rock band The Danse Society. One of the founder members of the post-punk and gothic rock movement in the 1980s released this studio album in September 2015, through the band's own record label, Society. The album was released in a limited edition red vinyl and CD, including lyrics and artwork to each song. The album was re-issued in September 2016 as a deluxe version with the addition of the bonus tracks 'Sound of Silence' and 'If I were Jesus'
