Hegemony Gold: Wars of Ancient Greece is a real-time strategy game developed and published by Canadian studio Longbow Digital Arts Inc. [1] It began as Hegemony: Philip of Macedon which revolved around the campaigns of Philip II of Macedon. It was originally released on Windows on 11 May 2010. It was updated as Hegemony Gold: Wars of Ancient Greece on 23 February 2011 [2] which added scenarios set in the Peloponnesian War. [3] The game features simultaneous real-time tactical battles and real-time strategic empire management, with a focus on the logistics and planning of military campaigns. [4] It was followed by Hegemony Rome: The Rise of Caesar in May 2014 and Hegemony III: Clash of the Ancients in August 2015. A DLC for Clash, The Eagle King, was released in February 2017.
According to Steam user reviews the game has a "very positive" rating. GameStar reported that Hegemony: Phillip of Macedon offered "Demanding Real-time Grand Strategy" and gave a 73/100 rating, despite the game's graphics not achieving high standards. [5] Strategy games magazine Armchair General gave Hegemony Gold a rating of 93/100. [6] Furthermore PC Masters rated the game with 84%, Destructoid 75% und GamingXP 70%. [7]
Philip II of Macedon was the king (basileus) of the ancient kingdom of Macedonia from 359 BC until his death in 336 BC. He was a member of the Argead dynasty, founders of the ancient kingdom, and the father of Alexander the Great.

Command & Conquer (C&C) is a real-time strategy (RTS) video game franchise, first developed by Westwood Studios. The first game was one of the earliest of the RTS genre, itself based on Westwood Studios' influential strategy game Dune II and introducing trademarks followed in the rest of the series. Age of Empires is a series of historical real-time strategy video games, originally developed by Ensemble Studios and published by Xbox Game Studios. The first game was Age of Empires, released in 1997. Nine total games within the series have been released so far as of October 28, 2021.
Hidden & Dangerous is a 1999 tactical shooter video game, developed by Illusion Softworks. It was published by Take-Two Interactive and TalonSoft, for Windows, Dreamcast and PlayStation. The PlayStation port of the game was developed by Tarantula Studios, and it is regarded as a pioneering tactical shooter. A sequel, Hidden & Dangerous 2, was released in 2003.
Zeus: Master of Olympus is a single-player strategy game developed by Impressions Games and published by Sierra Studios.
