Krisztina Egerszegi is a Hungarian former world record holding swimmer and one of the greatest Hungarian Olympic champions of the modern era. She is a three-time Olympian and five-time Olympic champion; and one of four individuals to have ever won the same swimming event at three consecutive Summer Olympics. She is the first female swimmer to win five individual Olympic gold medals.
Laure Manaudou is a retired French Olympic, world and European champion swimmer. She has held the world record in freestyle events between 200 and 1500 meter. She is the daughter of a French father and a Dutch mother, and she is the older sister of Florent Manaudou who is also an Olympic gold medalist swimmer.

Silke Möller is a German athlete, who in the 1980s competed for East Germany as one of the best female sprinters in the world. She was a member of the East German quartet that broke the world record in the 4 × 100 m relay at the World cup in Canberra on 6 October 1985. She and teammates Sabine Rieger, Marlies Göhr, and Ingrid Auerswald ran a time of 41.37 seconds, which stood as the world record until 2012. She is the 1987 World champion at both 100 metres and 200 metres.
Dagmar Hase is a former German swimmer, specialised in the freestyle and backstroke. She won seven Olympic medals in her career, including a gold medal in the 400 m freestyle at the 1992 Summer Olympics.

Roland Matthes was a German swimmer and the most successful backstroke swimmer of all time. Between April 1967 and August 1974 he won all backstroke competitions he entered. He won four European championships and three world championships in a row, and swam 19 world and 28 European records in various backstroke, butterfly and medley events. He was trained by Marlies Grohe.

Marion Aizpors is a retired German swimmer who won three relay medals at the 1981 and 1989 European Aquatics Championships. She also competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics in the 50 m freestyle, 100 m backstroke, 4 × 100 m freestyle and 4 × 100 m medley and finished seventh in both relay events. During her career she won nine national freestyle and backstroke titles.
Dagmar Rehak is a retired German breaststroke swimmer who won a bronze medal at the 1977 European Aquatics Championships. She competed at the 1976 Summer Olympics in the 100 m and 200 m breaststroke and 4 × 100 m medley relay events but did not reach the finals. During her career she won six national titles in the 100 m and 200 m breaststroke. She missed the 1980 Summer Olympics because of their boycott by West Germany.
Beate Jasch is a retired German swimmer who won a silver medal at the 1974 European Aquatics Championships. She competed at the 1976 Summer Olympics in the 100 m and 200 m butterfly and 100 m and 4 × 100 m freestyle events and finished eighth in the relay. During her career she won four national titles in the 100 m (1976) and 200 m butterfly and 200 medley (1976).
Anni Rehborn was a German swimmer who won a bronze medal in the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay at the 1927 European Aquatics Championships. She entered the 1928 Summer Olympics, but did not compete for unknown reasons. During her career she won eight national titles in the 100 m backstroke and 100 m freestyle events (1923–1924).
Doris Kohardt is a retired East German swimmer. She competed at the 1968 Summer Olympics in the 200 m backstroke event, but failed to reach the final. Between 1967 and 1969 she won three national titles in the 100 m and 200 m backstroke.
Heidi Eisenschmidt is a retired German swimmer. She competed in the 100 m butterfly at the 1960 Summer Olympics, but failed to reach the final. She won three national titles between 1958 and 1960 in the discontinued event of 4 × 100 m backstroke relay.

Erna Herbers is a German retired swimmer. She competed at the 1952 Summer Olympics in the 100 m backstroke event, but failed to reach the final. In 1948 she won the German 100 m backstroke title, but missed the 1948 Olympics because Germany was excluded from them.
