Heimo Schwilk (born 23 October 1952) is a German journalist and writer.

Life and works

Heimo Schwilk was born in Stuttgart on 23 October 1952. He is a journalist and writer, active as a senior reporter for Welt am Sonntag . [1]

With Ulrich Schacht  [ de ], Schwilk co-edited the anthology Die selbstbewusste Nation  [ de ] (1994), which was received as something of a manifesto from the Neue Rechte , of which Schwilk can be regarded as one of the more mainstream-integrated members. Roger Woods writes that Schwilk's political views are visible in his journalism, where he "writes about the decline of bourgeois society into selfishness and chaos, and the possible renaissance of a society based on notions of honour, duty and sacrifice". [1]

Schwilk published a biography on Ernst Jünger in 2007, Ernst Jünger. Ein Jahrhundertleben. Die Biografie. [2] In 2012 he published a book on Hermann Hesse, Hermann Hesse. Das Leben des Glasperlenspielers. [3]

<i>Widerstand</i> (magazine)

Widerstand. Zeitschrift für nationalrevolutionäre Politik was a monthly magazine established in Germany in 1926 to advocate national-revolutionary idea. It was published in Berlin, under the editorship of Ernst Niekisch. Prominent contributors included Ernst Jünger, Friedrich Georg Jünger, A. Paul Weber, August Winnig, and Joseph E. Drexel. The newspaper was shut down in December 1934. After a time in the underground, Niekisch was arrested and held in Nazi concentration camps from 1937 to 1945.

The Luther Monument is a group of statues that was erected in Worms, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, to commemorate the Protestant reformer Martin Luther. It was designed and partly made by Ernst Rietschel, and unveiled on 25 June 1868. The monument includes a group of bronze statues on stone plinths centred on a statue of Luther, surrounded by statues of related individuals and allegorical statues representing related towns. The elements are arranged in the shape of a castle, reflecting Luther's hymn "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God".

The Library of Conservatism is a specialized scientific library and think tank in Berlin. Its focus is non-fiction literature by conservative, right-wing and libertarian authors from the 18th to the early 21st century. The principal foundation for the library was laid by the writer and publicist Caspar von Schrenck-Notzing who gave his extensive private collection of books. The BdK opened in 2012 in Berlin. By 2019 its catalogued stock comprised more than 30,000 items. The library is financed and supported by the Foundation for Conservative Education and Research.

Günther Rühle was a German theatre critic, book author and theatre manager. He directed the feuilleton (editorial/entertainment) sections of major newspapers and was regarded as an influential theatre critic, beginning in the 1960s. He managed the Schauspiel Frankfurt from 1985 to 1990. Rühle was a member of the PEN-Zentrum Deutschland. From 1993 to 1999, he was president of the Deutsche Akademie der Darstellenden Künste in Frankfurt. He published books about the history of theatre in Germany, and its criticism.
