Heinz Mayr (born 20 October 1935) is a former German racewalker, who competed for West Germany in the 1972 Summer Olympics.

He competed for the clubs Eintracht Braunschweig, [2] TSV Salzgitter and VfL Wolfsburg. He won the national championship in the 50 kilometres race walk in 1961, as well as four German racewalking team championships with Eintracht Braunschweig (also in 1961), Salzgitter (in 1969) and Wolfsburg (in 1973 and 1974). [3] [4]

Mayr competed in the 20 kilometres race walk at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, where he finished 13th. [1]

She won several German championships in various events and 2 silver medals and a gold medal in the 4 × 100 m relay at the 1938 European Athletics Championships in Vienna.

Gisela Birkemeyer is a retired German sprint runner who won two medals in the 80 m hurdles at the 1956 and 1960 Olympics. She won 40 East German championships, mostly in the 80 m hurdles (1953–1961) and 200 m sprint (1956–1960). At the European Championships in Stockholm in 1958, she was third in the 80 m hurdles. In 1959, she was voted GDR Sportswoman of the Year.

Karl-Heinz Kutschke is a retired East German modern pentathlete and swimmer. He started his career as a swimmer, winning three national titles in the 1500 m and 4×200 m freestyle events and being selected as a reserve for the 1960 Summer Olympics. He then changed to pentathlon and won three national titles in 1965, 1967 and 1968.
