It is the oldest running game show in India as well as the oldest show on private television in India. The name of the show is derived from the first five notes in the octave of classical Indian music.

Aneek Dhar is an Indian singer who started his musical career at the age of 17 winning Zee TV Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007 and Zee Bangla SaReGaMaPa both in the same year. He also was the winner of Bigg Boss Bangla Season 1. Dhar has been performing with his band since then in India as well as abroad. In 2018, Dhar started his career as a music composer mainly for his music videos, web series and films.

The series is meant for young children between the ages of 5–14 years, which judges the children on the basis of their voice quality, singing talent and versatility in performance. The show was premiered on 24 December 2016.

It was the 7th season of the franchise and was won by 14-year-old Sugandha Date.

Ramani Ammal, also popularly known by her stage name Rockstar Ramani Ammal, was an Indian folk and playback singer. She rose to prominence after taking part in a television reality show Zee Tamil's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Seniors in 2017. She received the nickname "Rockstar" from the judges of the inaugural edition of the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Seniors. She made her film debut as a playback singer in Kaadhal (2004).
Taare Zameen Par is an Indian kids singing reality show on StarPlus. It premiered on 2 November 2020 and ended on 30 January 2021. The series was hosted by the child actress Aakriti Sharma and singer Sugandha Mishra with Shankar Mahadevan, Jonita Gandhi and Tony Kakkar as the mentors.
