Hemant Shesh (born 28 December 1952 [1] ) is an Indian Hindi writer, poet and civil servant. [2]
Hemant Shesh completed his post graduate education in Sociology from the University of Rajasthan in Jaipur in 1977. He then joined the Rajasthan Administrative Service in the same year. [1] He has worked on many senior positions in the Government including Dy. Secretary to His Excellency the Governor of Rajasthan, Secretary Rajasthan Public Service Commission, Secretary, Rajasthan Information Commission, and also as District collector and magistrate in Pratapgarh district of Rajasthan state. Hemant Shesh has retired from the Indian Administrative Service as Registrar for the Board of revenue in Ajmer, Rajasthan. [3]
He has published over 31 books including 21 of his own writings while the rest were ones he edited. [2] [4] and has been editor for Kala-Prayojan a quarterly literary magazine. [5] Among his published work are thirteen poetry collections. [6] His poetry has also been translated into other languages, including non-Indian languages. [5] Shesh has received many awards and honours [6]
Apart from many honours and public felicitations, he was awarded the K. K. Birla Foundation's Bihari Puraskar, a national award for the year 2009 for his collection of poetry titled Jagah Jaisi Jagah. [7] He has also won an awarded from the Government of Rajasthan for 'original outstanding creative writing' in 1988.[ citation needed ]

Dr. Prashasya Mitra Shastri is a Sanskrit poet and author who won the Sahitya Akademi Award for Sanskrit in 2009 for his Anabheepsitam, a collection of short stories. He also won the Kalidas Puraskar awarded by the Madhya Pradesh government's Kalidas Sanskrit Akademi. The award includes a letter of commendation and a cash prize of Rs 51000. He won the award for his contributions to Sanskrit literature and the two story collections and a collection of poetry he published in the year 2007–08. He has also won awards from the Sahitya Academies of Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. He was the organiser for a three-day Rishi Balidaan Samaaroh in memory of Dayanand Saraswati in Ajmer in 2009. He is especially known for his light verse and stories featuring satire and irony.
Ashok Vajpeyi is an Indian Hindi-language poet, essayist, literary-cultural critic, apart from being a noted cultural and arts administrator, and a former civil servant. He was chairman, Lalit Kala Akademi India's National Academy of Arts, Ministry of Culture, Govt of India, 2008–2011. He has published over 23 books of poetry, criticism and art, and was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award given by Sahitya Akademi, India's National Academy of Letters, in 1994 for his poetry collection, Kahin Nahin Wahin. His notable poetry collections include, Shaher Ab Bhi Sambhavana Hai (1966), Tatpurush (1986), Bahuri Akela (1992), Ibarat Se Giri Matrayen, Ummeed ka Doosra Naam (2004) and Vivaksha (2006), besides this he has also published works on literary and art criticism: Filhal, Kuchh Poorvagrah, Samay se Bahar, Kavita ka Galp and Sidhiyan Shuru ho Gayi Hain. He is generally seen as part of the old Delhi-centric literary-cultural establishment consisting of bureaucrat-poets and academicians like Sitakanta Mahapatra, Keki Daruwalla, J.P.Das, Gopi Chand Narang, Indra Nath Choudhari and K.Satchidanandan.
Muni Tarun Sagar was an Indian Digambara monk. His lectures are termed Kadve Pravachan because they can be candidly critical of common practices and views. His lectures have been compiled and published in book series also titled Kadve Pravachan. Excerpts from his discourses are often published by newspapers. Unlike most other Digambar Jain monks, his audience often included a majority of non-Jains. His discourses often addressed family or society issues.

Balram Shukla is an academician, poet and author based in New Delhi. He is a self-taught scholar of Sanskrit and Indian literature. He works as a professor of Sanskrit at the University of Delhi. He is a scholar of Sanskrit, Hindi, Urdu, Persian and Prakrit. He writes poetry in both Sanskrit and Persian, and also translates Persian poetry into Sanskrit using the same poetic metres. He has been awarded the Badrayan Vyas Award for Sanskrit in 2013 by the President of India. He has authored eight books.

Ruma Devi is an Indian social worker, fashion designer and traditional handicraft artist from Barmer, Rajasthan. Ruma devi received the “Nari Shakti Puraskar 2018” the highest civilian honour for Women in India. She is associated with a network of over 30,000 rural women, trained them and linked them to the livelihood.
Surender Sharma is an Indian poet, writer and humorist. He often writes and performs comic sketches of himself and his wife and known for his refrain chaar lainaa suna raha hoon in Haryanavi dialect. He was honoured by the Government of India in 2013, with the award of Padma Shri for his contributions to the field of literature.
The Indira Gandhi Paryavaran Puraskar is an environment award given for contributions in the field of environmental protection. The award was established in 1987 by the Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change, Government of India. A cash prize, silver lotus trophy, scroll, and a citation are included in the award. The selection of any organization or personality for the award is done by a committee headed by the Vice President of India. In 2008, the award was given to Isha Foundation of Tamil Nadu. Sonroopa Vishal has published three books, including Likhna Zaruri Hai (2014) and America Aur 45 Din (2018), and co-authored several books.
Sarvesh Asthana is an Indian poet, writer and satirist, who writes and performs in the Hindi language. He has authored around 12 books. Asthana has contributed to various genres of Hindi literature, including Hasya Kavita, Vyangya (satire) and Bal kavita. He was honored with the Yash Bharati, the highest civilian award of the Government of Uttar Pradesh for his contribution in the field of literature in 2016. He is also the recipient of the Sohan Lal Dwivedi Award by the Uttar Pradesh Hindi Sansthan, Government of Uttar Pradesh. Asthana was appointed the Advisor to the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in 2019.
Urmilesh Shankhdhar was an Indian Hindi-language poet, writer and lyricist. He was one of the popular poets of contemporary Hindi literature. He was awarded Yash Bharti, the highest award of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, posthumously in 2007. Shankhdhar was a professor of Hindi department in Nehru Memorial Shivnarayan Das Memorial College, Budaun.
Shakti Dan Kaviya was a poet, writer, critic, and scholar from Rajasthan, India. Kaviya had served as the department head of Hindi as well as Rajasthani section multiple times at Jai Narain Vyas University. He was considered an authority in Dingal (Rajasthani) literature as well as a great scholar of Hindi and Braj-Bhasha. Kaviya was also a Sahitya Akademi Award recipient for his work 'Dharti Ghani Rupali'
Aalok Shrivastav is an Indian poet, lyricist and journalist. His critically acclaimed works include Aameen (2007), a poetry collection and Afreen (2012), a story collection, both published by Rajkamal Prakashan. Aalok's works have won a number of accolades for his works, including the International Pushkin Award and Dushyant Kumar Award by Madhya Pradesh Sahitya Akademi.
Shambhu Shikhar is an Indian Comedian, Poet, and writer from Madhubani, Bihar, India. He was the semi-finalist of the Great Indian Laughter Challenge -III aired on StarPlus in 2007. He was awarded with Bharatendyu Harishchand Puraskar by the Hindi Academy, Government of Delhi in 2010.
