Henrietta Doran-York (born 30 August 1962) [2] is a politician from Sint Maarten. She was Minister Plenipotentiary of Sint Maarten from 19 November 2015 until 15 January 2018. [3] [4] She previously served as Deputy Minister Plenipotentiary. [5] Doran-York is a member of the National Alliance party,and has run in several elections. [6]
Doran-York had a career in the prison system of Sint Maarten,then under control of the Netherlands Antilles. She eventually became head supervisor. In the 2010 Netherlands Antilles general election,Doran-York obtained a seat. In 2011 she became a manager at the Sint Maarten Ministry of Justice. [7] In May 2015 she became head of the Windward Islands Civil Servants Union/Private Sector Union. [5]
Her son Egbert Jurendy Doran was elected to the Estates of Sint Maarten in the 2018 Sint Maarten general election. [8]
The Netherlands Antilles was a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The country consisted of several island territories located in the Caribbean Sea. The islands were also informally known as the Dutch Antilles. The country came into being in 1954 as the autonomous successor of the Dutch colony of Curaçao and Dependencies. The Antilles was dissolved in 2010. The Dutch colony of Surinam,although it was relatively close by on the continent of South America,did not become part of the Netherlands Antilles but became a separate autonomous country in 1954. All the island territories that belonged to the Netherlands Antilles remain part of the kingdom today,although the legal status of each differs. As a group they are still commonly called the Dutch Caribbean,regardless of their legal status. People from this former territory continue to be called Antilleans in the Netherlands.
The 'National Alliance' is a political alliance in Sint Maarten,formed by the Sint Maarten Patriotic Alliance and the National Progressive Party. It is one of main political parties within Sint Maarten. At the legislative elections in the Netherlands Antilles,18 January 2002,the alliance won 4.8% of the popular vote of Sint Maarten and 1 out of 22 seats. At the elections in the Netherlands Antilles of 27 January 2006,it won one extra seat.
Sint Maarten is a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Caribbean. With a population of 41,486 as of January 2019 on an area of 41.44 km2 (16.00 sq mi),it encompasses the southern 40% of the divided island of Saint Martin,while the northern 60% of the island constitutes the French overseas collectivity of Saint Martin. Sint Maarten's capital is Philipsburg. Collectively,Sint Maarten and the other Dutch islands in the Caribbean are often called the Dutch Caribbean.

The Franco-Dutch treaty on Saint Martin border controls,sometimes shortened to the Franco-Dutch treaty and in full the Treaty between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the French Republic on the control of persons entering Saint Martin through the airports,is a treaty between France and the Netherlands aimed at improving border controls at the two airports on the divided island of Saint Martin. The island is divided into French Saint-Martin and Dutch Sint Maarten.
The Caribbean Netherlands are the three special municipalities of the Netherlands that are located in the Caribbean Sea. The Caribbean guilder is a proposed new currency of Curaçao and Sint Maarten,the Caribbean islands which became "landen" within the Kingdom of the Netherlands,following the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles on 10 October 2010. The Caribbean guilder would replace the Antillean guilder at par and be pegged to the U.S. dollar. In November 2020,the Caribbean guilder was announced for circulation initially in 2021,but it was delayed again.

Marcel Faustiano Augustin Gumbs is a Sint Maarten politician who served as the 2nd Prime Minister of Sint Maarten from 2014 to 2015. He was selected as Prime Minister in the coalition agreement between the United People's Party and the independent Members Parliament Cornelius de Weever and Leona Marlin-Romeo. Prior to becoming Prime Minister he served as a member on the Sint Maarten Council of Advise.
Josianne Fleming-Artsen is an educator and politician,who served as Minister Plenipotentiary of Sint Maarten from 2014 to 2015 and Deputy Minister Plenipotentiary of Sint Maarten from 2013 to 2014. She served as president of the University of St. Martin from 1999 to 2010.
The Second Marlin cabinet was the sixth Cabinet of Sint Maarten installed following the achievement of constituent country status of Sint Maarten within the Kingdom of the Netherlands on 10 October 2010. The cabinet was a coalition between the National Alliance,the United St. Maarten Party and the Democratic Party.
Jorien Wuite is a Sint Maarten-Dutch civil servant,diplomat,and politician. Born in The Hague,she moved to Sint Maarten aged 32 to work in government. She rose to the position of Minister of Education,Culture,Youth and Sports and served as Minister Plenipotentiary of Sint Maarten in the period 2018–19. She moved back to the European part of the Netherlands due to her election to the House of Representatives in 2021 as a member of the social liberal party Democrats 66 (D66).
Willem Frederik Meinhardt (Wem) Lampe was a politician of the Netherlands Antilles. Lampe served as Minister of Justice from 1951 to 1952,and from 1954 to 1955. He was Minister Plenipotentiary from 1955 to 1967.
