Hey! Bob! My Friend! is the debut US release for the Japanese synth-rock band Polysics.
The album consists of various tracks from the band's earlier Japanese-only releases 1st P and A.D.S.R.M! .

Dream was a Japanese pop girl group. The group was formed as a result of a 1999 talent contest called "Avex Dream 2000". Originally a three-piece group consisting of Mai Matsumuro, Kana Tachibana, and Yu Hasebe, the group has undergone many changes since its debut in 2000 on the Avex Trax label, and none of the original trio remain. The original trio sold over 950,700 records, and in total the group has sold over 1,100,000 records over the span of 10 years.
Polysics is a Japanese Techno/Electronic Music band from Tokyo, who dubs its unique style as "technicolor pogo punk". It was named after a brand of synthesizer, the Korg Polysix. The band started in 1997, but got their big break in 1998 at a concert in Tokyo. They create high energy music, fusing conventional guitar music with synthesized and computer generated sound to create a unique mixture of punk and synthpop heavily inspired by the American bands Devo and The Tubes, as well as Japanese bands such as P-Model and Yellow Magic Orchestra. Their song lyrics often consist of Japanese, English, or just downright gibberish. The band has been noted for their extremely energetic live performances and their wild gimmicky outfits, notably their straight-bar sunglasses and trademark orange boiler suits stamped with a simple "P".
Rip Slyme is a Japanese hip hop group. In its best known incarnation, it was primarily composed of four MCs and a DJ, Fumiya. Pes and Su have since parted ways with the group. Their sound is influenced by old-school hip hop and other western rappers such as The Pharcyde, De La Soul, Public Enemy, Jurassic 5, the Beastie Boys, DJ Premier and Leaders of the New School.
Bob Nanna is an American musician best known as the singer and guitarist for the bands Braid and Hey Mercedes. Nanna also currently performs as part of the band Lifted Bells, as well as a solo project The City on Film.
Jin Akanishi is a Japanese musician, singer, songwriter and actor. He has been active since 1998 as one of the two lead vocalists of the J-pop boy-band KAT-TUN before starting a solo career in 2009. Akanishi has also acted in several films and dramas.
Koki Tanaka is a Japanese singer–songwriter and actor. He was a member of Jpop idol boy band KAT-TUN from their debut until September 30, 2013 when his contract with Johnny & Associates was terminated. When he was a member of KAT-TUN, he was recognized as the rapper in the group and has a hip-hop-influenced style. Out of the other members, Tanaka was most often paired up with Yuichi Nakamaru and they even formed a comedy duo 'TaNaka'. After leaving Johnny & Associates, Tanaka formed his own indie rock band called INKT.
Sug was a Japanese visual kei rock band formed in 2006. The band has released two EPs, five full-length studio albums, and several singles. Until 2009, the band was signed to "Indie PSC", a subdivision of PS Company. As of 2010, they have signed onto a major label, Pony Canyon. The band's tagline in promotional work is "Heavy Positive Rock".
"Don't U Ever Stop" is the seventh single by Japanese boy band, KAT-TUN, and the first single from their fourth studio album, Break the Records: By You & For You. The single was released in four editions and as such features four different covers; the three limited editions featured two solo songs from two members each.

"Tsume Tsume Tsume/"F"" is a double A-side maxi single by Japanese metal band Maximum the Hormone, released on July 9, 2008. The single reached number 2 on the Oricon Singles Chart and was certified gold by the RIAJ. The tracks "Tsume Tsume Tsume" and "F" were included on 2013's Yoshū Fukushū, released five years later.

Spyair is a Japanese rock band from Nagoya, Japan, formed in 2005. The band currently consists of Yuji "UZ" Nakai, Kenji "Momiken" Momiyama, Kenta Sasabe (drums) and Yosuke (vocals). The band's name was determined in one shot by the members, which came from the word spyware, a type of computer virus.

"Kakato de Ai o Uchinarase" is the 17th single of Japanese rock band Asian Kung-Fu Generation. The single was released on April 11, 2012. It was composed by Masafumi Gotoh and Kensuke Kita. It reached number 8 on the Oricon chart.
Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas(sic) is a Japanese electronicore band from Kobe that was formed in summer 2008. The band currently consists of vocalist So, keyboardist Minami, guitarist Taiki, drummer Tomonori, and bassist Tetsuya. They are best known for their heavy use of vocoder and synthesizer blended with emo/metalcore music and rave beats.
Cream is a Japanese hip hop group consisting of singer-songwriter Minami and rapper/track-maker Staxx T. Their musical style is influenced by hip-hop, pop, rock, and electronic dance music (EDM) -- which they collectively refer to as "new jpop." The group takes its name from a fusion of the words "creative" and "team". The group creates their music by having Minami compose a song's lyrics in English, after which point Staxx T translates it into Japanese.
Mejibray was a Japanese visual kei rock band which came together on June 18, 2011, founded by their vocalist, Tsuzuku, and signed on to White Side Group. Their musical style is heavy metal and hard rock, while also taking elements from genres such as djent or nu metal. The band currently consists of the members MiA (guitar), and Meto (drums). Previously, Ippu had been the guitarist of Mejibray, but left in October 2011. It was revealed on December 31, 2017, by MEJIBRAY's management that bassist Koichi and vocalist Tsuzuku had terminated their contracts with the company, leaving the future of the band uncertain.

"Manatsu no Tōriame" is a song by Japanese singer-songwriter Hikaru Utada. It was released digitally 15 April 2016, alongside "Hanataba o Kimi ni" as joint singles for her album Fantôme. The song is the theme to NTV's news show NEWS ZERO. The single is Utada's first release since 2012's Evangelion: 3.0 theme song "Sakura Nagashi", and marks her official comeback to the Japanese music scene.

"Fukkatsu Love" (復活LOVE) is the 48th single by Japanese boy band Arashi. It was released on February 24, 2016 under their record label J Storm. "Fukkatsu Love" was used as the background song for the NTT DoCoMo d hits commercial. The single sold over 485,000 copies in its first week and topped the weekly Oricon Singles Chart. "Fukkatsu Love" was certified for Double Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ).
