The Hoysala Empire was a Kannadiga power originating from the Indian subcontinent that ruled most of what is now Karnataka between the 10th and the 14th centuries. The capital of the Hoysalas was initially located at Belur, but was later moved to Halebidu.
Rashtrakuta was a royal Indian dynasty ruling large parts of the Indian subcontinent between the 6th and 10th centuries. The earliest known Rashtrakuta inscription is a 7th-century copper plate grant detailing their rule from manapur a city in Central or West India. Other ruling Rashtrakuta clans from the same period mentioned in inscriptions were the kings of Achalapur and the rulers of Kannauj. Several controversies exist regarding the origin of these early Rashtrakutas, their native homeland and their language.
The Western Chalukya Empire ruled most of the western Deccan, South India, between the 10th and 12th centuries. This Kannadiga dynasty is sometimes called the Kalyani Chalukya after its regal capital at Kalyani, today's Basavakalyan in the modern Bidar District of Karnataka state, and alternatively the Later Chalukya from its theoretical relationship to the 6th-century Chalukya dynasty of Badami. The dynasty is called Western Chalukyas to differentiate from the contemporaneous Eastern Chalukyas of Vengi, a separate dynasty. Prior to the rise of these Chalukyas, the Rashtrakuta empire of Manyakheta controlled most of Deccan and Central India for over two centuries. In 973, seeing confusion in the Rashtrakuta empire after a successful invasion of their capital by the ruler of the Paramara dynasty of Malwa, Tailapa II, a feudatory of the Rashtrakuta Dynasty ruling from Bijapur region defeated his overlords and made Manyakheta his capital. The dynasty quickly rose to power and grew into an empire under Someshvara I who moved the capital to Kalyani.
Aarya is a 2007 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film written and directed by Balasekaran and produced by Manoj Kumar and Vijay Anandan. The film stars R. Madhavan and Bhavana, while Prakash Raj and Vadivelu appear in supporting roles. The film's music was composed by Mani Sharma with cinematography by K. V. Guhan and editing by V. Jaisankar. The venture had a theatrical release across Tamil Nadu on 10 August 2007.
Hello Brother is a 1994 Indian Telugu-language action comedy film, produced by K. L. Narayana and directed by E. V. V. Satyanarayana. It stars Nagarjuna, Ramya Krishna and Soundarya, with music composed by Raj–Koti. The film is loosely based on the Hong Kong action comedy Twin Dragons (1992). In turn, Hello Brother spawned several of its own remakes, twice in Hindi as Judwaa (1997) and its reboot Judwaa 2 (2017), in Kannada as Cheluva (1997). The film received positive reviews from both critics and audience and was a super hit at the box office. It was also the highest grossing Telugu movie of 1994. Over the years, the film acquired cult status among Telugu fans for its fun and witty lines and comedy.
The Knights of the Fish is a Spanish fairy tale collected by Fernán Caballero in Cuentos. Oraciones y Adivinas. Andrew Lang included it in The Brown Fairy Book. A translation was published in Golden Rod Fairy Book. Another version of the tale appears in A Book of Enchantments and Curses by Ruth Manning-Sanders.
Perarasu is a 2006 Indian Tamil-language action crime film directed by Udhayan. The film starring Vijayakanth, Debina Bonnerjee, Prakash Raj, Sarath Babu, Anandaraj and Pandiarajan. The music is composed by Pravin Mani. The film follows the pattern of southern masala movie with good-cop-versus-bad-guy story. This film became an average grosser.
Hoysala literature is the large body of literature in the Kannada and Sanskrit languages produced by the Hoysala Empire (1025–1343) in what is now southern India. The empire was established by Nripa Kama II, came into political prominence during the rule of King Vishnuvardhana (1108–1152), and declined gradually after its defeat by the Khalji dynasty invaders in 1311.
Woh Kaun Thi? is a 1964 Indian Hindi-language mystery thriller film directed by Raj Khosla, starring Sadhana, Manoj Kumar and Prem Chopra. Though the screenplay was written by Dhruva Chatterjee, parts were later rewritten, wherein Manoj Kumar took an active role. Music by Madan Mohan was the asset of this movie. The film became a hit at the box office. Its success had Khosla directing Sadhana in two more suspense thrillers: Mera Saaya (1966) and Anita (1967).
Romesh Thapar (1922–1987) was an Indian journalist and political commentator. Affiliated with the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Thapar was the founder-editor of the monthly journal Seminar, published from New Delhi, India.
The Chalukya dynasty was a Classical Indian dynasty that ruled large parts of southern and central India between the 6th and the 12th centuries. During this period, they ruled as three related yet individual dynasties. The earliest dynasty, known as the "Badami Chalukyas", ruled from Vatapi from the middle of the 6th century. The Badami Chalukyas began to assert their independence at the decline of the Kadamba kingdom of Banavasi and rapidly rose to prominence during the reign of Pulakeshin II. After the death of Pulakeshin II, the Eastern Chalukyas became an independent kingdom in the eastern Deccan. They ruled from Vengi until about the 11th century. In the western Deccan, the rise of the Rashtrakutas in the middle of the 8th century eclipsed the Chalukyas of Badami before being revived by their descendants, the Western Chalukyas, in the late 10th century. These Western Chalukyas ruled from Kalyani until the end of the 12th century.
Mr. Marumakan is a 2012 Malayalam-language comedy-drama film written by the duo Udayakrishna-Siby K. Thomas and directed by Sandhya Mohan. The movie stars Dileep in the titular role with an ensemble cast including K. Bhagyaraj, Sanusha, Khushbu Sundar, Sheela, Biju Menon, Nedumudi Venu, Baburaj, Riyaz Khan, Sai Kumar, Kaviyoor Ponnamma, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Salim Kumar and Harisree Ashokan. The film is a remake of the 1989 Telugu film Attaku Yamudu Ammayiki Mogudu. Some scenes of the film is borrowed from another 1971 Malayalam film Oru Penninte Kadha.
Pokiri Raja is a 1995 Indian Telugu-language action film, produced by A. Venkat Rami Reddy under L V S Productions and directed by A. Kodandarami Reddy. It stars Venkatesh, Roja, Pratibha Sinha, Ali with music by Raj–Koti. Venkatesh played a double role in the film. It was a remake of the Hindi film Aankhen which was inspired from Kannada film Kittu Puttu which itself was based on Tamil film Anubavi Raja Anubavi. The film was Average at the box office.

Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli, produced by Rajshri Productions, was an Indian dramatic serial that aired on Zee TV Monday to Friday evenings. It was well received, and stopped running on air in July 2012. It was aired on Apna TV in New Zealand and FBC TV in Fiji. Notable actors Zarina Wahab, Zahida Parveen, Alok Nath and Smita Jaykar acted in this serial as well. Lyricist Raghvendra Singh is the creative director in this serial.
Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya is an Indian television drama show, which premiered on 6 January 2014 on Zee TV and on Zee World as Love Oh Love on 14 August 2017. It stars Kanchi Singh and Mishkat Varma. The show is a coming of age story about two young people who have different notions about love. It was replaced by Satrangi Sasural in its timeslot.
Kumkum Bhagya is an Indian Hindi-language drama television series produced by Ekta Kapoor under Balaji Telefilms. It premiered on 15 April 2014 on Zee TV and it is digitally available on ZEE5. It formerly starred Sriti Jha and Shabir Ahluwalia. Currently, it stars Mugdha Chaphekar and Krishna Kaul as the second-generation leads. The concept of the show was originally based on Jane Austen's 1811 novel Sense and Sensibility. The show was rebranded as Kumkum Bhagya: Doosri Peedhi in 2019 with a new generation appearing.

Koduku Diddina Kapuram is a 1989 Telugu-language action drama film, produced and directed by Krishna under his Padmalaya Studios banner. It stars Krishna, Vijayashanti, Mahesh Babu and music composed by Raj–Koti. Mahesh Babu played a dual role for the first time as a child artist in this film.
