Richard Martin Lloyd Walters, better known as Slick Rick, is an English-American rapper and record producer.
Jonathan H. Smith, better known by his stage name Lil Jon, is an American rapper, producer and former frontman of the rap group Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz. He was instrumental in the emergence of the hip hop subgenre crunk, and is credited with bringing the genre into mainstream success. Lil Jon frequently collaborates with Miami-based rapper Pitbull, Bay Area-based rappers Too Short and E-40. He participates as one-third of an unofficial trio consisting of Atlanta-based artists Ludacris and Usher who frequently create songs together.
Richard Simpson, also known as Chubb Rock is an American rapper who released several successful hip hop albums in the late 1980s and early 1990s. A National Merit Scholar, Chubb Rock dropped out of Brown University to pursue his musical career.
Life Story is the debut studio album by American rapper Black Rob. It was released on September 28, 1999 via Arista Records and Sean "Puffy" Combs's Bad Boy Entertainment. The album was praised by critics for its production and Rob's vocal presence and lyricism being similar to the late Notorious B.I.G. Life Story debuted at number 3 on the Billboard 200 and spawned two singles: "Whoa!" and "Espacio". The album was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for selling 1,000,000 copies in the United States on August 17, 2000. The album sold close to 178,000 copies in its first week released.

It would be the most successful single from the album, being the only one of five singles to make it to the Billboard charts. It reached number fifty on the Hot R&B Singles chart and number two on the Hot Rap Singles chart.
"Behind Bars" is the first single released from Slick Rick's third album, Behind Bars. It was released on November 8, 1994. The original version was produced by Prince Paul, but was scrapped for the album and single in favor of remixes by The Epitome of Scratch and Warren G. The single was released while Rick was still in jail and featured an entirely animated music video for the remix that was produced by Warren G ; the music video was animated and directed by Sash Andranikian. "Behind Bars" became Slick Rick's first and only single to reach the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at 87 on the chart, the song also made it to 63 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and 12 on the Hot Rap Singles.

Fresh and MC Ricky D as they prepare for a show. The song incorporates portions of the melody from the theme song of the animated series Inspector Gadget. The original issue of the song featured a line where Slick Rick mockingly sings a verse from the Beatles' "Michelle" (1965), but all subsequent reissues have removed this line since the rights to the song were never secured.

Black Sheep is an American hip hop duo from Queens, New York, United States, composed of Andres "Dres" Vargas Titus and William "Mista Lawnge" McLean. The duo was from New York but met as teenagers in Sanford, North Carolina, where both of their families relocated. The group was part of the Native Tongues collective, which included the Jungle Brothers, A Tribe Called Quest, and De La Soul. After getting together in 1989, Black Sheep debuted in 1991 with the hit song "Flavor of the Month" and later released its first album, A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing, which gained them praise and recognition in the hip-hop community for the album's unique rhythms and intelligent, often humorous lyrics. After six years together, Black Sheep disbanded in 1995, citing creative differences.
