High School of Telecommunication Arts and Technology is a public high school in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.It was established in the 1980s with a focus on preparing students for careers working with computers, including by teaching about word processing and databases. [1] It has a software engineering program that is based around the CS4ALL curriculum. [2]

It is located at 350 67th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11220. [3] It has 1300 students. [4]

The school is a Gothic style building. [4] It was formerly Bay Ridge High School. As Bay Ridge High school, it was all girls, but it is now coed. [4]

In 2016, the building established a rooftop greenhouse for teaching about botany and food production. [5]

Theodore "Ted" Caplow is an American social entrepreneur, environmental engineer, and inventor. He is the founder of greenhouse science lab provider New York Sun Works and the co-founder of AgTech supply-chain disruptor BrightFarms. Caplow's pioneering work in urban agriculture and vertical farming began with the Science Barge in Yonkers, New York (NY). Caplow has also patented a Vertically Integrated Greenhouse. Caplow subsequently co-founded Caplow|Manzano in 2017 with Nathalie Manzano to pursue innovations in resilient housing design and sustainable building technology. As an academic, Caplow holds a Ph.D. in engineering from Columbia University and has published a series of peer-reviewed articles on water contaminant dynamics in the Hudson River Estuary, in addition to articles on Building-integrated agriculture.

Bay Ridge High School was a school based in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Initially the school was co educational, but when New Utrecht High School was formed it became an all girls high school. It served as the sister school to Brooklyn Technical High School. It was closed in 1985.

Conor Russomanno is an American entrepreneur, inventor, and public speaker, specializing in the development of advanced human-computer interfaces. He is the co-founder and CEO of OpenBCI, a company dedicated to open source innovation of brain-computer interface technologies. Russomanno has also served as an adjunct professor at Parsons School of Design and NYU Tisch School of the Arts, and as a Research Affiliate at the MIT Media Lab. In 2018, he was honored on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in the category of Science. In April 2023, Russomanno delivered a TED Talk that featured a spectacular assistive technology BCI and AR demonstration to help a friend living with severe motor disabilities, Christian Bayerlein, fly a drone over the audience.

The Arthur Ross Greenhouse is a greenhouse located on the rooftop of Milbank Hall at Barnard College, New York City. It is the third greenhouse to be built on the site since the College's founding, and houses a conservatory of approximately 650 plant species, as well as space for research in plant science and ecology.
