Yang Yin (楊愔), courtesy name Zhunyan (遵彦), nickname Qinwang (秦王), was a high-level official of the Chinese Northern Qi dynasty.
Yuan Huangtou was the son of emperor Yuan Lang of Northern Wei dynasty of China. At that time, paramount general Gao Yang took control of the court of Northern Wei's branch successor state Eastern Wei and set the emperor as a puppet. After Gao deposed the last Eastern Wei emperor and established himself as the emperor of Northern Qi, he exterminated the imperial clan of the previous dynasty. Yuan Huangtou was imprisoned by Gao Yang and, along with other prisoners and against his will, flown via a large kite from the tower of Ye, China. The History of Northern Dynasties and Zizhi Tongjian record that all the condemned kite airmen died except for him. "Gao Yang made Yuan Huangtou and other prisoners take off from the Tower of the Phoenix attached to paper owls. Yuan Huangtou was the only one who succeeded in flying as far as the Purple Way, and there he came to earth." The Purple Way, a road, was 2.5 kilometres from the approximately 33 metre tall Golden Phoenix Tower.
The Golden Urn is a method introduced by the Qing dynasty of China in 1793 for selecting Tibetan reincarnations by drawing lots or tally sticks from a golden urn. After the Sino-Nepalese War, the Qianlong Emperor promulgated the 29-Article Ordinance for the More Effective Governing of Tibet, which included regulations on selecting lamas. The Golden Urn was ostensibly introduced to prevent cheating and corruption in the process but it also positioned the Qianlong Emperor as a religious authority capable of adducing incarnation candidates. A number of lamas, such as the 8th and 9th Panchen Lamas and the 10th Dalai Lama, were confirmed using the Golden Urn. In cases where the Golden Urn was not used, the amban was consulted. Lhamo Dhondup was exempted from the Golden Urn to become the 14th Dalai Lama in 1940.

The Blancpain-Imaginist Literary Prize (宝珀理想国文学奖) is a literary prize to “discover and encourage outstanding young writers under the age of 45.” It was established by Swiss watchmakers Blancpain and The Imaginist literary journal in 2018.
Huang Shaoqiang was a Chinese artist of the Lingnan School. The grandson of a village official, he learned poetry, calligraphy, and art from a young age. He studied at the Bowen Art School and was a pupil of Gao Qifeng and Gao Jianfu, who taught a blend of Western and Chinese painting. After graduating, he became an educator while developing his own career as an artist, holding his first solo exhibition in 1926. Following the Japanese invasion of Manchuria, Huang raised funds for the war effort. He travelled China for several years, settling in Guangzhou by 1935. As Japanese forces moved southward, he fled to Hong Kong briefly before ultimately returning to his hometown in Guangdong. Sickly, he died at his ancestral home.
