Hindley Street Country Club (HSCC) is an Australian cover band formed in 2017 by Adelaide musician Constantine Delo [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] . The band performs live and online, leveraging social media audiences on YouTube, TikTok and Facebook. [7] [8]
HSCC was established as a project by bassist Constantine Delo [9] [10] [11] . Their goal was to create live versions of songs that are popular with Australian audiences. [12] They collaborated with notable live musicians from the Adelaide music scene to achieve this, often forming a band of up to 12 musicians. [13] [14] The group would record re-imagined covers of popular songs, rehearse the songs three or four times together, and then record in one take and upload them to YouTube every Friday at 5 pm. [15] [12]
The Hindley Street Country Club derives its name from Hindley Street in Adelaide, South Australia, a location where many group members performed at various venues during the peak of the street's live music scene in the 1970s, '80s, and '90s. [16] [8]
In 2020, HSCC's videos gained substantial traction on YouTube, resulting in nearly 987,000 followers and approximately 567 million views. [16]
In 2024, Mark Pope, Australian artist manager and producer, teamed up with entrepreneur and businessman Michael Chugg to take on the touring management and promotion of the band. [17] In May 2024, Cold Chisel's Ian Moss guested with Hindley Street Country Club on their cover of the Beatles' 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' [18] . Later that year, the group traveled to Singapore to perform at the Singapore Grand Prix and in Manilla, Philippines in their first overseas performances. [19]
As of January 2025, the band has over 1.19 million subscribers on YouTube and continues to tour across Australia, Brazil [20] and the United States of America. [19]
The band is made up of regular and guest local musicians. The lineup depends on what is required to reproduce the original song. [14]
