Hip to the Jag is the debut solo studio album by Iranian-born musician [2] Kavus Torabi released on Believers Roast on 22 May 2020.
In his review for Louder , Joe Banks called the album "a meditation on – and sometimes confrontation with – unseen worlds and the realm beyond the senses." [3] Roger Trenwith of The Progressive Aspect said that the album "leaves you feeling sad and happy all at once, and it has taken you on a journey through Kavus’s soul, and maybe shone a light into yours, too." [4] On Echoes and Dust, Zachary Nathanson noted that Torabi "doesn’t pull any punches bringing his own music to life with his debut solo album [...] He always wants to push forwards and see what the next flight will take him to next. Is he ever going to slow down? Absolutely not. But Hip to the Jag is the album we need to have music inside our systems for a time of healing in 2020." [5]

Cardiacs are an English rock band formed in Kingston upon Thames by Tim Smith and his brother Jim in 1977 under the name Cardiac Arrest.
The Monsoon Bassoon were an English independent rock band active between 1995 and 2001, notable for their exceptionally complex and energetic music. During their lifespan, the band won the NME's Single Of The Week award three times. They were an integral part of the "London math-rock" scene of the late 1990s and had a passionate underground following, particularly inspiring other bands.
Tim Bowness is an English singer and songwriter primarily known for his work as part of the band No-Man, a long-term project formed in 1987 with Porcupine Tree's Steven Wilson.

LSD is the unfinished sixth and final studio album by the English rock band Cardiacs. Recording began following lineup changes, with the lead single "Ditzy Scene" released by Org Records in 2007 to tease the upcoming double album. It was due to be released in October 2008, promoted by singles in August and November as well as a reissue of the concert film All That Glitters Is a Mares Nest (1992). Production was indefinitely postponed after frontman Tim Smith had a cardiac arrest and stroke on 25 June 2008 leaving him unable to play or provide vocals.

Believers Roast is a record label formed in 2009 by musician Kavus Torabi, initially to only release recordings by Torabi and his band Knifeworld. The label expanded with the fundraising album Leader of the Starry Skies: A Tribute to Tim Smith in 2010 and has since released the collaborative album The Exquisite Corpse Game (2013) and albums by artists including Thumpermonkey, The Gasman, Karda Estra, Arch Garrison, and respective band members.
Michael James Vennart is an English musician, best known as a guitarist and singer. He is the leader of the eponymous band Vennart, as well as being a member of British Theatre and Empire State Bastard. He is also known as the former frontman of Oceansize, and as a longtime touring guitarist for Biffy Clyro.
