Hoffman High School

Hoffman High School was a secondary school located in Hoffman, Minnesota. Their mascot was the Bearcat.

In 1978, Hoffman won the Minnesota State 9-Man Football Championship in Foley, Minnesota. Standout players for the Bearcats included; Steve Olson, Mike Ziemer, Joel Thorstad, Mike Gunderson, Mark Gunderson, Dave Parks, Dan Cleland. (Hist of Hoffman)

Hoffman High School paired with Kensington in the fall of 1979 to form, Hoffman-Kensington High School which later closed. Local students now attend West Central Area Schools in Barrett.

The 2007 Cincinnati Bearcats football team represented the University of Cincinnati in the 2007 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team, coached by Brian Kelly, played its home games in Nippert Stadium, as it has since 1923. This was Kelly's first complete season with the Bearcats, having coached them to a 27–24 win against Western Michigan in the 2007 International Bowl.

Hoffman-Kensington High School was located in Hoffman, Minnesota and included the towns of Hoffman and Kensington. The two towns joined schools due to declining enrollment in 1979. Their mascot was the Patriot and their colors were red and blue. In 1980, H-K won the Minnesota State 9-Man Football Championship on their home field. The school disbanded in 1993 and joined the towns of Barrett, Elbow Lake, and Wendell to form the West Central Area school district.

Barnett previously served as Associate Head Coach/Co-Defensive Coordinator at Michigan State University as well as Defensive Coordinator/Defensive Backs Coach at Florida State University. He currently serves as the Secondary Coach at Michigan State University. As a player, Barnett was a four-year letter-winner as a defensive back for Michigan State University, serving as team captain and earning All-America honors during his senior year, and spent seven seasons in the National Football League.

The Cincinnati Bearcats men's basketball program represents the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio. The school's team competes in NCAA Division I as part of the American Athletic Conference though they will move to the Big 12 conference within the next few years. The Bearcats are currently coached by Wes Miller.

The 2008 NCAA Division II football season, part of college football in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association at the Division II level, began on August 30, 2008, and concluded with the NCAA Division II Football Championship on December 15, 2008 at Braly Municipal Stadium in Florence, Alabama, hosted by the University of North Alabama. The Minnesota–Duluth Bulldogs defeated the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats, 21–14, to win their first Division II national title.

The 2018–19 Cincinnati Bearcats women's basketball team will represent the University of Cincinnati during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The season marks the sixth for the Bearcats as members of the American Athletic Conference. The Bearcats, led by first year head coach Michelle Clark-Heard, will return to play their home games at Fifth Third Arena after a one year for renovation. They finished the season 24–11, 12–4 in AAC play to finish in third place. They advanced to the semifinals of the American Athletic women's tournament where they lost to UCF. They received an automatic bid Women's National Invitation Tournament where they defeated Youngstown State, Minnesota, Butler in the first, second and third rounds before losing to TCU in the quarterfinals.
