Hopes Die Last is an Italian post-hardcore band from Rome, formed in 2004. Previously signed to StandBy Records, the band has self-released their latest EP. At the time of their breakup the line-up consisted of Daniele Tofani (lead vocals), Marco Mantovani (guitar/backing vocals) and Luigi Magliocca (guitar). To date, the band has released two studio albums and three EPs. [1]
On January 6, 2017, Hopes Die Last announced their breakup. The remaining band members, except Luigi Magliocca, formed a new band entitled ALPHAWOLVES.
The band regrouped with its original lineup in February 2022.
The band formed in 2004 from Ladispoli near Rome, as a group of teenage friends. The band played shows in Rome and, after, in the whole of Italy. Hopes Die Last released Aim For Tomorrow in 2005, an EP that contains six songs. The genre of this EP differs markedly from their later work, which is classified as post-hardcore. Aim for Tomorrow was a melodic hardcore/punk album just with signs of screaming. Aim For Tomorrow had their original line-up but, instead of "Becko" singing, it was Marco Mantovani who sang at the time and of course with Nicolò "Nick" with some singing and screaming.
In 2008, they were able to break into the emocore scene with the release of the EP Your Face Down Now.[ citation needed ] Thanks to their new album, the band played in Germany, England, France, USA and Japan. The EP is considered the most influenced by emo sound work of the band[ citation needed ] and contains six songs and an acoustic bonus track for Japan. One of tracks ("Call Me Sick Boy") is still one of the most popular songs of the band and was re-recorded for Hopes Die Last's next album. The EP is the first record by Hopes Die Last to include Marco "Becko" Calanca for the singing vocals but also the last to include former screaming vocalist Nick.
The band signed with StandBy Records in order to release the next work (Six Years Home) as a major record release, after being signed to Wynona Records, an Italian record company that mainly produces post-hardcore records.
After their tour in United States and some dates in Europe, Nick (former screaming vocalist) decided to leave the band. He posted on Hopes Die Last Myspace page the following message : "Ehy guys what’s up? this is Nick… after months thinking about it, I just realized I didn’t want to be the singer/screamer of Hopes Die Last anymore so here I am, to tell you I left the band. I still love the other guys in the band and we’re still friends like before. I’m leaving the band just because I’m not happy to play this kind of music anymore. I’m sorry. Keep on supporting Hopes Die Last. I’ll be back with a new project in some months so don’t forget about me - Nick". After being the screamer for some months for the post-hardcore band Helia, in 2011 he started producing electronic music under the name of "Razihel". [2]
In August 2009, the band released the first full-length album, called Six Years Home .
In 2010, the band was in a Tour for Italy and other European countries. The cover of the Katy Perry's song, Firework was released on March 3, 2011, on MySpace. [3] and was featured on the band's second album.[ citation needed ]
Hopes Die Last are recording a new album coming out in 2012. In October, the band leaves for the UK tour with Attack Attack!, then proceed with further dates in Europe, East Europe and Russia. [3] On November 14, 2011, exactly 3 months prior, Standby Records posted a song trailer for the upcoming single/video for a new song and revealed the album title. The singles Unleash Hell and Never Trust the Hazel Eyed were released in January 2012, followed in few months by the third single Keep Your Hands Off. [4] [5] [6] The new album was finally announced with the name Trust No One and was released on February 14, 2012. [7]
On April 23, 2013, the band announced that Nekso is now a full member of the band. [8] Nekso had already collaborated with the band on the song "Keep Your Hands Off", and also appeared on the music video of this song. [6] On May 1, 2013, the band announced that they were now part of the Monster Energy family. [9] On May 20, 2013, the band announced a new release for June 25, 2013, titled Wolfpack (EP) along with the release of a new single titled "Cheaters Must Die". [10] The second single of Wolfpack (EP) is titled "Hellbound" and was released on June 3, 2013. [11] Wolfpack (EP) was released on June 25, 2013. The digital version is available on media stores, and physical only on the band's store at shopbenchmack.com. [12] [13] On June 26, 2013, following the release of the EP, Hopes Die Last posted a third music video titled "Promises - Nero Cover". [14] On December 3, 2013, the band posted a fourth music video for the song "The Wolfpack" which doesn't feature Valerio "Nekso" Corsi, suggesting he is not longer part of the band. [15] Almost one year after the release of "The Wolfpack" music video, Hopes Die Last released a fifth music video for the song "Blackhearted". [16]
On April 19, 2015, the band posted a teaser on YouTube to announce their coming back. [17] This teaser was followed by a second one on April 29, 2015, where the name Alpha Wolves was shown for the first time. [18] The band kept teasing on the social media and then confirmed the news on May 24, 2015, by announcing the release of their upcoming single entitled Alpha Wolves on June 3, 2015. [19] This news was shortly followed by a Facebook post on May 28, 2015, stating that Marco "Becko" Calanca and Ivan Panella decided to part ways with Hopes Die Last, to dedicate themselves to new projects. the post also introduced new bassist Yuri Santurri and new drummer Danilo Menna. [20] Alpha Wolves was released on iTunes on June 3, 2015, and was followed by a music video on YouTube. [21] [22]
On January 6, 2017, the band announced the end of the band on their Facebook account. The remaining band members, except guitarist Luigi Magliocca, formed a new band entitled ALPHAWOLVES. [23] They released their debut single Bayonets on January 22, 2017. [24]
As of February 25, 2022, Hopes Die Last announced their reunion with the original band line-up. [25] On March 4, 2022, a lyric video of the new single Silence Broken was released, [26] followed by the music video of the same song on May 31, 2022. [27] In the following months, the band released several singles, including Better Off Dead on April 25, 2022, [28] White Eyes on June 28, 2022, [29] and Dead Boy on September 2, 2022. [30]

Keane are an English alternative rock band from Battle, East Sussex, formed in 1995. The band comprises Tom Chaplin, Tim Rice-Oxley, Richard Hughes and Jesse Quin. Their original line-up included founder and guitarist Dominic Scott, who left in 2001.

Relient K is an American rock band formed in 1998 in Canton, Ohio by Matt Thiessen, Matt Hoopes, and Brian Pittman during their third year in high school and time at Malone University in Canton. The band is named after guitarist Hoopes' automobile, a Plymouth Reliant K car, with the spelling intentionally altered to avoid trademark infringement over the Reliant name.
Bullet for My Valentine, often abbreviated as BFMV, are a Welsh heavy metal band from Bridgend, formed in 1998. The band is currently composed of Matthew Tuck, Michael Paget, Jason Bowld (drums) and Jamie Mathias (bass). Former members include Michael Thomas, Jason James and Nick Crandle; the latter were on bass. They were formed under the name Jeff Killed John and started their music career by covering songs by Metallica and Nirvana. Jeff Killed John recorded six songs which were not released; two of these tracks were reworked later in their career as Bullet for My Valentine. A change of style from that of Jeff Killed John led the band to change their name. In 2002, the band secured a five-album deal with Sony BMG. The band has stated that their music is influenced by classic metal acts such as Metallica, Iron Maiden and Slayer. The band is part of the Cardiff music scene.
Flyleaf is an American rock band formed in Belton, Texas, in 2002. The band has charted on mainstream rock, Christian pop, and Christian metal charts. They performed around the US in 2003 before releasing their eponymous debut album, Flyleaf, in 2005. The album went platinum after selling more than one million copies. Flyleaf released their second album, Memento Mori, in 2009, which debuted and peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard charts.
Sabaton is a Swedish power metal band from Falun. The band was formed in 1999 by lead singer Joakim Brodén, bassist Pär Sundström, guitarists Oskar Montelius and Rikard Sundén, and drummer Richard Larsson, but has gone through multiple lineup changes with Brodén and Sundström remaining the only consistent members. The vast majority of their songs are about historical events, mainly wars and significant battles. Sabaton is considered one of the "big four" power metal bands along with Blind Guardian, DragonForce and Helloween, though the band describe their music as a form of heavy metal.
Vanna was an American hardcore punk band from Boston that was formed in 2004. On December 15, 2017, the band played their final show at the Worcester Palladium.
Manchester Orchestra is an American indie rock band from Atlanta, Georgia, that formed in 2004. The group's current line-up is composed of lead singer, songwriter and rhythm guitarist Andy Hull, lead guitarist Robert McDowell, bassist Andy Prince and drummer Tim Very. Hull is the band's only original member, having overseen every iteration of the band to date. Former drummer Jeremiah Edmond parted ways with the band in January 2010 to focus on his family and on running the band's record label, Favorite Gentlemen. The band's original bassist, Jonathan Corley, parted ways with the band in 2013. Keyboardist/percussionist Chris Freeman announced his departure from the band in September 2016.
I See Stars are an American electronicore band from Warren, Michigan formed in 2006. The band currently consists of lead vocalist Devin Oliver, guitarist Brent Allen, keyboardist and co-vocalist Andrew Oliver, and bass guitarist Jeff Valentine.
We Came as Romans is an American metalcore band from Troy, Michigan. Formed in 2005, the band has gone through one name change and multiple line-up changes, and signed to SharpTone Records in 2016 after having been on roster of Equal Vision Records since 2009. They have released six studio albums – To Plant a Seed (2009), Understanding What We've Grown to Be (2011), Tracing Back Roots (2013), We Came as Romans (2015), Cold Like War (2017) and Darkbloom (2022) – and two EPs in 2008 titled Demonstrations and Dreams.
Aron Erlichman, better known by his stage name Deuce, is an American rapper, music producer and guitarist. Brought to fame as a member of the rap rock band Hollywood Undead, Deuce departed from Hollywood Undead in 2010 and has since moved on to solo work through the label "Five Seven Music", a branch of Eleven Seven Music. He was formerly involved in a movement with fellow rapper Truth called "Nine Lives". Deuce released his debut album of the same name on April 24, 2012, which sold 11,425 copies in its first week. Deuce has also collaborated with artists NXTREADY, Ronnie Radke, Brokencyde and Blood on the Dance Floor.
The Word Alive is an American metalcore band formed in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2008. The band was signed to Fearless Records since their formation. In 2022, they changed their label and signed to Thriller Records. The band currently consists of vocalist Tyler Smith, guitarist Jose DelRio, and drummer Daniel Nelson. The group has had several line-up changes throughout their career, with no founding members remaining. Their second EP, Empire reached No. 15 on the Top Heatseekers, meeting a great amount of positive acclaim upon its release in 2009. The following year, the group recorded and released their debut studio album, Deceiver on August 31, 2010, which reached No. 97 on the Billboard 200 and 15 on Independent Albums.
Six Years Home is the debut studio album by Italian post-hardcore band Hopes Die Last. It was released on August 4, 2009, through Standby Records. It includes a re-recorded version of "Call Me Sick Boy" from their EP Your Face Down Now, and nine other tracks.
Close to Home was an American post-hardcore band from Cincinnati, Ohio, United States, that was formed in 2005. They have released two EPs and three full-length albums, Picture Perfect; their major label debut, Never Back Down, which was released on February 15, 2011; and their most recent effort, Momentum, which was released July 31, 2012 via Artery Recordings. Close to Home has toured across the United States and Europe with bands such as Silverstein, Emery, Dance Gavin Dance, In Fear and Faith, We Came as Romans, and Electric Callboy. They have also participated in 2010 and 2012's Scream It Like You Mean It tours. On December 10, 2010, they signed with Artery Recordings; however this contract has been fulfilled. The band was previously managed by Outerloop Management. Close to Home is commonly depicted as CTH.
Ice Nine Kills is an American heavy metal band from Boston, Massachusetts, who are signed to Fearless Records. Best known for its horror-inspired lyrics, Ice Nine Kills formed in its earliest incarnation in 2000 by high school friends Spencer Charnas and Jeremy Schwartz. Charnas is currently the only remaining founding member.
Falling in Reverse is an American rock band that formed in 2008 by lead vocalist Ronnie Radke. The band's original name was From Behind These Walls, but it was renamed Falling in Reverse shortly after formation. They are currently signed to Epitaph Records. The band has undergone numerous lineup changes, with Radke being the only remaining original member.
Secrets is an American metalcore band formed in San Diego, California in 2010. After being signed to Rise Records in 2011, Secrets released their debut full-length album The Ascent in January 2012. The record debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart and became the first Velocity Records release to appear on the Billboard Top 200, debuting at No. 185.
Hanna Elise Isabell Maj Höstblomma Ryd, known professionally as Elize Ryd, is a Swedish singer, best known as one of the three vocalists and co-lyricist in the heavy metal band Amaranthe. She also gained some popularity prior to the band's inception by performing guest vocals for the American power metal band Kamelot, both on tour and in the studio. She sings in the soprano range.
Victor Kwesi Mensah, known professionally as Vic Mensa, is an American rapper. Born and raised in Chicago, he was a member of the regional hip hop groups Kids These Days and Savemoney prior to releasing his debut solo mixtape, Innanetape (2013). As a solo artist, Mensa has been signed to Virgin EMI Records, Def Jam Recordings, Capitol Records, and Roc Nation.
Silent Screams are an English metalcore band formed in Coventry, West Midlands, England, in 2007. The band currently consists of lead vocalist Joel Heywood, guitarists Ozzi Osman and Sam Varney and drummer Adam Mallabone and bass-player and vocalist Tom Craig. The band released two EP: Ghosts on 2008, and Hope Is the Assurance of Fools on 2009; and two studio albums: When It Rains on 2011, and Hope for Now on 2014.
