Hopper Jack Penn [1] [2] [3] (born August 6, 1993) [4] is an American actor. [5] He has appeared in the films Signs of Love (2022) and Devil's Peak (2023). [6]
Penn was born to parents Sean Penn and Robin Wright in Los Angeles, California. [7] [8] [9] His sister is Dylan Penn. [10] [11] He was named after actors Dennis Hopper and Jack Nicholson. [1] [12] His father almost named him "Steak." [13] [14] [15] Penn has admitted that his parents' "rocky" relationship took a toll on him. [16] He spent his childhood in Ross, California and moved to Los Angeles in 2009, following his parents' separation. [17] [18] [19]
Penn portrayed Morgan Fairchild Williams, the real life cousin of filmmaker Michael Maxxis, opposite Paz de la Huerta and Rosanna Arquette in Maxxis' 2020 film Puppy Love . [17] [20] [21] While preparing for the role, Penn lived with Williams in his apartment. [22] [23]

In March 2013, it was reported that Penn was caught on video shouting racist and homophobic slurs at a papparazo while entering a Beverly Hills building with his father. [29] He later issued an apology: "I was accosted by paparazzi and made to feel like an animal — threatened and under attack, but that does not condone my own actions. On April 4, 2018, Penn and his then girlfriend, actress Uma von Wittkamp, were arrested in Nebraska for drug possession after police pulled them over for failing to signal.
