Houghton-Portage Township Schools (abbr. HPTS) is a school district that covers the city of Houghton, Michigan and Portage Township. It includes three schools: Houghton Elementary School, Houghton Middle School, and Houghton High School. [1]

Houghton is the largest city and county seat of Houghton County in the U.S. state of Michigan. Located on the Keweenaw Peninsula, Houghton is the largest city in the Copper Country region. It is the fifth-largest city in the Upper Peninsula, with a population of 8,386 at the 2020 census. Houghton is the principal city of the Houghton micropolitan area, which includes all of Houghton and Keweenaw counties. Houghton lies upon the Keweenaw Waterway, a partly natural, partly artificial waterway connecting at both ends to Lake Superior. Across the waterway from Houghton lies the city of Hancock.
Porter County is a county in the U.S. state of Indiana. As of 2020, the population was 173,215, making it the 10th most populous county in Indiana. The county seat is Valparaiso. The county is part of Northwest Indiana, as well as the Chicago metropolitan area. Porter County is the site of much of the Indiana Dunes, an area of ecological significance. The Hour Glass Museum in Ogden Dunes documents the region's ecological significance.
Streetsboro is a city in western Portage County, Ohio, United States. The population was 17,260 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Akron metropolitan area. The city was formed from the former Streetsboro Township of the Connecticut Western Reserve.
Dakota Heights is an unincorporated community in Portage Charter Township, Houghton County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is an enclave surrounded on all four sides by the extreme western part of the city of Houghton ; it is non-contiguous with any other part of Portage Township. Living in Dakota Heights is at least sometimes regarded as living "in town" (Houghton).
Fort Wayne Community Schools (FWCS) is the Fort Wayne, Indiana area public school district, and is the largest in Indiana. The second largest is the Indianapolis Public Schools. It operates five high schools, ten middle schools, one intermediate school and over thirty elementary schools, serving 30,992 students in 2012-2013. FWCS's current superintendent is Dr. Mark Daniel. FWCS is divided into several departments, including Technology, Transportation, Academic Services, Continuing Education, Nutrition Services, and Public Affairs.

Southeast High School is a public high school located in the southeastern portion of Portage County in Palmyra Township near Ravenna, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Southeast Local School District and was established in 1950 with the consolidation of five rural high schools. The current building opened in 1954 with additions built in the 1960s, 1980s, and 2000s. The district covers nearly 100 square miles (260 km2) including the entire townships of Edinburg and Palmyra, as well as most of Paris, Deerfield and Charlestown townships.
The Rootstown Local School District is a secondary school district located in Rootstown, Ohio, United States. The district serves approximately 1,300 students in Rootstown Township in Portage County and has three schools: Rootstown Elementary School serving grades K-5, Rootstown Middle School serving grades 6–8, and Rootstown High School serving grades 9–12. All three schools are located on a central campus along SR 44 between I-76 and Tallmadge Road, just north of the Rootstown town center. Each building is named in honor of a past prominent member of the Rootstown Schools.

Mantua Center School is a historic building located in the Mantua Center area of Mantua Township, Portage County, Ohio, United States. It was built in 1914 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 4, 2013. The building was listed as an example of early 20th century educational and Neoclassical architecture in rural Portage County and one of the few remaining buildings from that era still standing.
The Aurora City School District is a public school district in Aurora, Ohio, U.S. The district serves primary and secondary students in the city of Aurora and part of the adjacent village of Reminderville. The district operates five buildings and, as of the 2018–19 school year, has an enrollment of approximately 3,000 students in grades preschool through twelve. District offices are housed in the historic Aurora Township School, which was built in 1912.
