Huma Nawab is a Pakistani actress. She is one of the most popular actresses of her time and one of the most successful Pakistani TV actresses of the 1980s and 1990s. [1] She played major roles in TV dramas Chand Grehan , Aahat , Nijaat , Hawain, and Silsila . [2] [3]

Early life

Nawab was born in 1969 in Islamabad, Pakistan. [4] She completed her education at the University of Islamabad. [4]

Career

Huma did theatre plays at school, and Chand Grehan was her most successful drama, and her pairing with Ayaz Naik was quite popular. [2] She is noted for her husky voice, well-suited to the strong characters she played in dramatic works. [2] Nijaat and Dhoop Mein Sawan are other famous drama serials she performed in. [2] She started her career in the mid-80s with Silsila and continued working till 1999, after which she went to the United States. [5] Huma returned to Pakistan briefly in 2012, again in 2014, [6] and permanently in 2015. [2] Since then, she has been a prolific actor, with some of her noted projects being Yaqeen Ka Safar , Deedan , Surkh Chandni , Mein Na Janoo , Dil Ruba, and Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay . [7]

Personal life

In 2012, she came back to Pakistan, fulfilling her mother's wish who wanted to be buried next to her husband after being diagnosed with blood cancer. [8] [2] [4] Huma is unmarried and lives in Islamabad. [9] Huma's mother Fatima Nawab was also an actress. [4]

Dil Ruba is a 2020 Pakistani television series premiered on 28 March 2020 on Hum TV. It is directed by Ali Hasan, written by Qaisra Hayat and produced by Momina Duraid under MD Productions. The serial stars Hania Amir as an Internet celebrity, who is popular on a video-sharing social platform. It also stars Shehroz Sabzwari, Syed Jibran, Mohib Mirza, Asad Siddiqui, Ghana Ali, Laila Wasti and Marina Khan in supporting roles.

Salma Hassan is Pakistani actress. She is best known for her role in sitcom Sub Set Hai. Some of her other notable appearances include Tanhaiyan Naye Silsilay, Khaani, Do Bol, Pyar Ke Sadqay and Parizaad.

Umera Ahmed is a Pakistani writer, author and screenwriter.
