Huo Daishan is a photojournalist and environmentalist, winner of the Ramon Magsaysay Award. He is the founder of Guardians of the Huai River, which advocates for protection of the Huai River in China.

Huo grew up in Shenqiu County (part of Henan Province) in the Huai River Basin; amidst rising cancer rates, he persuaded local factory leaders to better treat their waste water. [1] He has led mapping efforts in the river’s basin, while investigating and monitoring the sources of pollution. [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]

Chung To (杜聰) is a Chinese AIDS activist, co-founder of the Chi HengFoundation (CHF). He was awarded the 2007 Ramon Magsaysay Award for Emergent Leadership.

Nileema Mishra is a social worker from the Indian state of Maharashtra. She received the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Emergent Leadership in 2011. Nileema was born into a lower-middle-class family in 1972 in the village of Bahadarpur Taluka Parola, Maharashtra, District- Jalgaon, Maharashtra. She is a postgraduate in psychology from the University of Pune. After her education, she worked with Vigyan Ashram, Pabal under the guidance of Dr Kalbagh. She registered Bhagini Nivedita Gramin Vigyan Niketan formally in the year 2005 with the help of Dr Jagannath Wani. Nileema has association with Caring Friends, Mumbai and Let's Dream foundation, Delhi. She donated her award money to her Bhagini Nivedita Gramin Vigyan Niketan, which helps poor women through micro-financing. She was awarded Padma Shri in 2013 for social work.

Yang Saing Koma Khmer: យ៉ង សាំងកុមារ is the founder of the Cambodian Center for Study and Development in Agriculture (CEDAC) and renowned for his creative fusion of practical science and collective will that has inspired and enabled farmers in Cambodia. He is recipient of the Ramon Magsaysay Award.

Hasanain Juaini is an Indonesian environmental conservationist, educator and winner of the Ramon Magsaysay Award.

Fu Qiping is a leader and environmentalist who changed the structure of the economy of a village named Tengtou in China. He received Asia's most prestigious award, the Ramon Magsaysay Award, for his work.

Ambrosius Ruwindrijarto is social activist, investigator and founder of Telapak which promotes ecological justice, cultural integrity and economic empowerment in Indonesia. For his work he was awarded Ramon Magsaysay Award in 2012.
