The Hymn of Aris or Aris Niketes (Ares Victorious) is the anthem of the Greek multi-sport club Aris, based in Thessaloniki. [1] It was written in 1926. The lyrics were written by Georgios Kitsos and the music by Secondo Poselli (son of Vitaliano Poselli). The orchestration was made by the famous classic composer of Thessaloniki Emilios Riadis.

Thessaloniki, also known as Thessalonica, Saloniki, or Salonica, is the second-largest city in Greece, with over one million inhabitants in its metropolitan area, and the capital of the geographic region of Macedonia, the administrative region of Central Macedonia and the Decentralized Administration of Macedonia and Thrace. It is also known in Greek as η Συμπρωτεύουσα, literally "the co-capital", a reference to its historical status as the Συμβασιλεύουσα or "co-reigning" city of the Byzantine Empire alongside Constantinople.

Aris FC, commonly known as Aris Thessaloniki FC, AFC or simply Aris, is a Greek professional football club based in the city of Thessaloniki, Macedonia, Greece. Created in 1914 as Aris Thessaloniki Football Club, the club was a founding member of the Macedonian Football Clubs Association, as well as the Hellenic Football Federation. The colours of the club are golden/yellow, a dominant colour in the culture of Macedonia and reminiscent of the Byzantine heritage of Thessaloniki, and black. It is named after Ares, the ancient Olympian "God of War," associated also with courage and masculinity, whose image is portrayed on the club's logo as depicted in the Ludovisi Ares sculpture. It is considered as one of the biggest teams in Greece.

The Yeni Mosque is a historical mosque in Thessaloniki, Greece. It was built by Italian architect Vitaliano Poselli in 1902 for the city's Dönmeh community, crypto-Jewish converts to Islam. However, when the Donmeh left the city during the population exchange between Greece and Turkey, it was used to house the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki in 1925. The 2021–22 season was the 108th season in the existence of Aris Thessaloniki F.C. and the club's 4th consecutive season in the top flight of Greek football since their return there. In addition to the Super League 1, Aris were participating in this season's editions of the Greek Cup and the inaugural edition of UEFA Europa Conference League.
