History
Hyste'riah was formed by bassplayer J. B. Krown (from D.T.A.L.), drummer T. C. Hagen and guitarist Cliff T (later in Darkane and Terror 2000) at a local music festival in Landskrona. The band soon recorded the four-song cassette Attempt the Life which sold worldwide. These four songs brought Hyste'riah a lot of attention from underground zines and contact from the label Wild Rags in Montebello, California.
Drummer problems resulted that the recording of what became the Jeremiad of the Living four-song cassette was done as a two-piece act. This did not stop the band from writing more music. Wild Rags, who sold about 10% of their tapes now offered them a deal for their upcoming four-song 12-inch single.
Late in 1989, Hyste'riah joined forces with the remains of Helsingborg thrashers GOD. B. C. The result was a softer, doomier and more technical sound which made an end to their thrashy hardcore signum. The offered deal with Wild Rags was (for unknown reasons) rejected by some members in the new line-up and instead the band signed for Hellhound Records under their new name Hyste'riah G.B.C.
In 2016, the recordings from 1987 and 1988 were freshened up in Darkane studios and re-released by To The Death Records.
Thrash metal is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal music characterized by its overall aggression and often fast tempo. The songs usually use fast percussive beats and low-register guitar riffs, overlaid with shredding-style lead guitar work. The lyrical subject matter often includes criticism of The Establishment and concern over environmental destruction, and at times shares a disdain for Christian dogma with that of black metal. The language is typically direct and denunciatory, an approach borrowed from hardcore punk.
Born Against was an American hardcore punk band from New York active between 1989 and 1993. In addition to their radical leftist politics, the group espoused a DIY punk message and challenged what they perceived as being a problem within the punk subculture of their time. Though Born Against received little media exposure while still together, they have since been described as "legendary" by the Chicago Reader and the LA Weekly.
Tankard is a German thrash metal band from Frankfurt, founded in 1982. Alongside Kreator, Destruction and Sodom, Tankard is often considered one of the "Big Four" of Teutonic thrash metal. Stylistically, Tankard have consistently played thrash metal that thematically centres primarily on alcohol reverence, unlike the remaining "Big Teutonic Four", who are all known for covering such topics related to death, politics, violence and anti-fascism.
Morbid Saint is an American Death Metal/Thrash Metal band from Sheboygan, Wisconsin. The band is known for being a regular opening act for Florida's Death, one of the progenitors of death metal, as confirmed by Jay Visser, as well as having an influence in the genres of blackened thrash and death metal.
The Undead is an American horror punk band formed in 1980 in New York City's East Village by Bobby Steele, Chris "Jack" Natz (bass) and Patrick Blanck (drums). They were one of the pioneers in the New York hardcore scene.

Nuclear Death was an American death metal band formed in 1986 in Phoenix, Arizona. They were a very early example of a band in the extreme metal genre with a female vocalist, Lori Bravo.
Living Death was a German speed metal/thrash metal band from Velbert, noted for being one of the pioneering bands in the thrash metal genre. The band's career spanned from the early 1980s until the early 1990s and has since acquired a cult status.
Victims Family is a hardcore punk band formed in 1984 in Santa Rosa, California, by bass guitarist Larry Boothroyd and guitarist and vocalist Ralph Spight. Devon VrMeer completed the trio as drummer. Their sound blended punk, heavy metal and jazz, making them difficult to categorize into a single genre. Allmusic says, "Since its inception, the trio has refused to be pigeonholed to any single musical style — incorporating elements of hardcore punk, jazz, funk, hard rock, and noise into its challenging sound". They were known as one of the most musically diverse bands in the San Francisco underground music scene. Over the years, Victims Family went through four drummers and two break-ups. Their name was taken from a piece by the cartoonist B. Kliban.
Chicago hardcore band the Bhopal Stiffs was formed in 1985 by singers/guitarists Larry Damore and Vince Marine, bassist Steve Saylors, and drummer Dave Schleitwiler. The band name is a reference to an ecological disaster which took place in Bhopal, India in 1984. Honing a melodic, mid-tempo approach very much in tune with the prevailing Windy City punk sound of the period, the group gigged steadily, in time becoming the de facto house band at the Chicago bar Exit. In 1987, the Bhopal Stiffs recorded a ten-song demo tape, with the single "Not Just My Head" following on the Dazit label later that year and played gigs in Indiana, Wisconsin, St Louis and many shows in Chicago. Marine exited the lineup in early 1988, with guitarist Ron Lowe stepping in and Larry Damore assuming sole vocal duties; the reconfigured group recorded the six-song E.P.A. record, issued on the Roadkill label. After contributing "Too Much Pain" to the There's a Fungus Among Us compilation, the Bhopal Stiffs disbanded in 1989; Larry Damore and Steve Saylors later formed Pegboy with former Naked Raygun guitarist John Haggerty, while Dave Schleitwiler went on to play drums for local groups Buzzmuscle and The Indicators, amongst others, and Ron Lowe became a recording engineer at the Chicago Recording Company. Harmless Records later compiled the Stiffs' complete recorded output on the CD 1985-1989. The band played reunion shows in 2001 and 2010.
Sheer Terror are an American hardcore punk band from New York City. The band was one of the first to combine elements of heavy metal with a hardcore punk base, pioneering a heavier style of hardcore that would create many bands in the following decades. Formed in late 1984, the band stayed together until 1998, through numerous lineup changes and shifts in musical style. In October 2004, the band reunited and gave two shows at New York City's CBGB Club.
Breakdown is an American hardcore band formed in Yonkers, New York, in late 1986. The band emerged from the mid-1980s New York hardcore scene, where they helped to pioneer the sound of beatdown hardcore.
Korzus is a Brazilian thrash metal band formed in São Paulo in 1983. They are one of the first bands of the Brazilian thrash metal scene, along with bands like Sarcófago and Sepultura. Their first release was issued in the seminal metal compilation called SP Metal on Baratos Afins label in 1985.

They are recognised as being an extremely influential group in the early U.S. black metal scene, and served as a launching pad for its band members that went on to form such groups as Angelcorpse, Ares Kingdom, Revenge, Vulpecula, and Kerasphorus.
Phantasm was an American thrash metal band from Los Angeles, active between 1986 and 1988. The supergroup included several notable members, including early Metallica bassist Ron McGovney, Hirax singer Katon W. De Pena, and prolific drummer Gene Hoglan. The band did not record an album during its period of activity, but issued live and demo material on the 2001 CD Wreckage.
The Bristles is a raw punk band formed in 1982 in Landskrona, Sweden. The name comes from GBH 12-inch Leather, Bristles, Studs and Acne.
D.T.A.L. was a chaotic hardcore band formed in Landskrona, south Sweden, in 1983 by the multi-artist Nelle. Their first 7"EP "Time To Die" was released in 1984 and was followed by the 7"EP "A Beautiful Day" in 1985. 1988 the band contributed on the compilation LP "Really Fast Vol. 4" from Really Fast Records, and 1990 the compilation EP "Hard, raw and fast" from "Chicken Brain Records". The band split-up shortly thereafter. Many different members where in and out over the years and the music evolved from hardcore punk to death metal. In 1994 three songs from the 7"EP "Time To Die" were reissued on the 3CD compilation "Varning For Punk" from "Egg Tapes & Records".
