Hyundai Pride is a container ship, built according to the latest IMO and MARPOL standards. The ship was ordered in 2011 and completed in July 2014 by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in Geoje, South Korea. [1]

Design

Hyundai Pride was ordered by Hyundai Merchant Marine in August 2011 at the shipyard of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in Geoje, South Korea. [1] The vessel was planned to start serving the G6 Asia-Europe Loop 6 sea line of the company. The container ship has length of 366.5 m (1,202 ft), beam of 48 m (157 ft), depth of 30 m (98 ft) and maximum summer draft of 14.5 m (48 ft). The cargo ship has deadweight 152,700  DWT and gross tonnage 130,000  GT. With such dimensions the vessel can carry 13,154 TEU and has 900 reefer points for transportation of temperature controlled containers.

The main engine is a Hyundai-MAN B&W 10S90ME-C9.2, which was special development of the Hyundai with improved power and lower fuel consumption. The engine has output power of 85,670 hp at 86 rpm and NOx emissions 4.4 g/KW.h. With such engine the container ship can achiever service speed of 24.5 kn, while the maximum is over 27.0 kn. The vessel Hyundai Pride has also four diesel generators HIMSEN 8H32/40, which support the equipment and cargo handling systems.

<i>Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller</i> (ship) Triple E class container ship

Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller is the first ship of Maersk Line's Triple E class of container vessels. At the time of its entry into service in 2013, it had the largest cargo capacity in twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) of any vessel, and was the longest container ship in service worldwide. Constructed for Maersk by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) of South Korea, it was launched in February 2013 and began operational service during July 2013. It was named for Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller, the CEO of Maersk from 1965 to 1993. The ship is the first of a class of 20 identical vessels.

<i>Madison Maersk</i>

Madison Maersk is one of the largest very large container vessels (VLCV) in the world. The ship is Maersk Triple E class and was built in 2014 by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in South Korea. The ship was ordered together with her sister ships Magleby Maersk, Maribo Maersk, Marstal Maersk, Matz Maersk and Mayview Maersk. With improved architecture and more powerful engineering and propulsion system, the ship achieves better dynamic characteristics and lower fuel consumption. The ship has capacity for 18,270 TEU and is accommodated with 1800 reefer plugs.

<i>MSC Oliver</i>

MSC Oliver is one of the largest container vessels in the world, together with her sister ships MSC Oscar, MSC Zoe, MSC Maya and MSC Sveva. The vessel was delivered in March 2015 by Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering. According to the official statement of the CEO of Mediterranean Shipping Company, the ships are part from a bulk order for 20 vessels with same size, which will be used for cost optimizations of the company. With the new ships, the management of MSC are trying to fight the low freight rates and increased capacities of shipping.
