I. Jordan [1] is a British electronic music producer and DJ.

Life

I. Jordan grew up in Doncaster, England. [2] I. Jordan studied philosophy at the University of Hull, where involvement began in the Crystal Clear DJ society, booking club nights and eventually becoming president. [3] Following university, I. Jordan moved to London in 2014. [3] [2] In London, an interest began in producing music [4] and I. Jordan co-managed New Atlantis, a regular "ambient social" party run in collaboration with electronic music producer and DJ Al Wootton (formally Deadboy). [5] New Atlantis ended in 2018. [6]

I. Jordan identifies as genderfluid and genderqueer, [7] and uses they/them pronouns. [8] On 30 May 2022, I. Jordan changed their name from India Jordan, explaining the previous name "really doesn't resonate with me anymore." [9]

Work

I. Jordan has released four solo singles and EPs to date: DNT STP MY LV (2019), [3] WARPER / Bulbasaur Shuffle (2019), For You (2020) and Watch Out! (2021) and has also released collaborative singles with fellow electronic artists Finn, Dance System and Fred Again.

For You

For You was released on 20 May 2020 on Local Action. [10] Ben Jolley, in a five-star review for NME , describes the album as a "love letter" from Jordan to themself. [11] Resident Advisor describes For You as "ecstatic house"; [12] DJ Mag calls it "euphoric house". [7] Pitchfork noted that the album combines numerous genres and compared it to the work of Alan Braxe, Fred Falke, Dave Lee, and Bob Sinclar. [13] Pitchfork also named For You's eponymous track a best new track. [14] The album's final track, "Dear Nan King", is an homage to the television programme Tipping the Velvet . [3] The album's cover art was shot at Dalston Superstore, [11] a club Vice describes as "an east London LGBTQ institution". [15] For You ranked highly in numerous Best of 2020 lists: Resident Advisor picked it as their Number 1 Track of 2020; [16] Crack Magazine picked it as their Number 2 Track of 2020; [17] Pitchfork picked it as their #21 Best Song of 2020, [18] and it also featured in Best Song of the Year lists from Mixmag, Gorilla vs. Bear, NME, The Fader and more.

Watch Out!

Watch Out!, released on 7 May 2021 on Ninja Tune, [19] [4] was composed over a six-month period. [7] Resident Advisor, comparing Watch Out! to hardcore and techno, describes it as "alive" and "kinetic". [20] Jordan wrote portions of the album on a train journey and bike rides around London. [21] and took inspiration from travel more generally during the production process. [19]

Paul Rose, usually known as Scuba, is a British electronic musician and podcaster, now based in Berlin. Described as 'one of dance music's most inventive producers', he has released four albums, numerous singles and EPs, and a handful of compilation and mix albums. His style has been described as dubstep with a later 'shift toward a brighter and more eclectic approach to production'. In 2013, he won an award for Best Live Act from DJ Mag.

Alejandra Ghersi Rodríguez, known professionally as Arca, is a Venezuelan musician and record producer based in Barcelona, Spain. She initially began releasing music under the name of Nuuro. After attending the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, Ghersi first released the EP Baron Libre (2012) under the name Arca and subsequently released the EPs Stretch 1 and Stretch 2; the latter experimented with hip hop and brought her attention from prominent music publications.

Blane Muise, better known by her stage name Shygirl, is an English singer, DJ, rapper, songwriter and co-head/founder of record label and collective Nuxxe. Shygirl's music incorporates elements of dance music, hip-hop, experimental pop, grime and deconstructed club. She has also been associated with the hyperpop music scene. Shygirl rose to prominence after working with close collaborator and friend Sega Bodega, as well as other well-known experimental producers Arca and Sophie, and gaining attention from the likes of Rihanna, who has used various Nuxxe tracks for her Fenty Beauty commercials and fashion shows. Shygirl has released various singles since 2016, and three EPs titled Cruel Practice, Alias and Club Shy. Harlecore is the debut full-length album by British electronic musician Danny L Harle. It was released 26 February 2021 via Mad Decent. The album draws heavily on rave music, and features Harle taking on the personas of four different DJs, including: DJ Danny, MC Boing, DJ Mayhem and DJ Ocean.

"Say What You Will" is a song by English singer-songwriter and electronic music producer James Blake. It was written by Blake, Dominic Maker and Josh Stadlen. Its production was handled by Blake with co-producer Dominic Maker and additional production from Josh Stadlen and Jameela Jamil. The song was released on 22 July 2021 through Republic and Polydor Records, as the lead single from Blake's fifth studio album Friends That Break Your Heart.

"Nothing More to Say" is the debut single by the English musician Sophie, released in January 2013 through Huntleys + Palmers. The single contains the song "Eeehhh" and two versions of the title track, one of which had involvement from DJ Jackmaster. These songs are of the electro house genre while containing pop elements. "Nothing More to Say" was acclaimed and considered one of Sophie's most essential songs. The single was reissued in early 2022.

Park Hye Jin (Korean: 박혜진) is a South Korean singer, rapper, record producer, and DJ. In 2021, she released her debut studio album, Before I Die. It won the Best Electronic Record award at the 2022 Libera Awards.
