Founded in 1992 with an IPO in 1995, NetApp offers cloud data services for management of applications and data both online and physically.

Proginet Corporation, which was acquired by Tibco Software in 2010, was a systems management software company. It is best known for having developed a breakthrough product in the late 1980s called XCOM, which allowed companies to manage the process of moving bulk data between 26 different computer operating systems. In the early 1990s, the company's rights in XCOM were sold to its distributor, which was itself later acquired by CA-Inc. XCOM went on to generate hundreds of millions of dollars in sales for CA-Inc. After the sale of its only product, the company secured equity stakes from Microsoft and Novell, and began the development of enterprise managed file transfer products across many major computing platforms including Windows, UNIX, Linux, IBM i and the mainframe. The company has been in business since 1986. Proginet's products include CyberFusion Integration Suite, Slingshot, Edge Server, Harbor NSM and HFT, and the Rocketstream software suite. Proginet's global customer base spans more than 23 countries and includes many Fortune 500 companies. The company is headquartered in Garden City, New York, has offices in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. On June 22, 2010 the company announced that it is to be acquired by TIBCO Corporation for $23 million.

3PAR Inc. was a manufacturer of systems and software for data storage and information management headquartered in Fremont, California, USA. 3PAR produced computer data storage products, including hardware disk arrays and storage management software. It became a wholly owned subsidiary of Hewlett Packard Enterprise after an acquisition in 2010.

Trillium Digital Systems developed and licensed standards-based communications source code software to telecommunications equipment manufacturers for the wireless, broadband, Internet and telephone network infrastructure. It developed ZigBee wireless networking technology that enabled companies involved in energy technologies to help make buildings and homes smarter, consume less energy, and operate more efficiently. The low-power wireless technology can be embedded into a wide variety of devices to be part of a self-organizing mesh network. All Ember products conform to IEEE 802.15.4-2003 standards.
HP Information Management Software is software from the HP Software Division, used to organize, protect, retrieve, acquire, manage and maintain information. The HP Software Division also offers information analytics software. The amount of data that companies have to deal with has grown tremendously over the past decade, making the management of this information more difficult. The University of California at Berkeley claims the amount of information produced globally increases by 30 percent annually. An April 2010 Information Management article cited a survey in which nearly 90 percent of businesses blame poor performance on data growth. The survey concluded that for many businesses their applications and databases are growing by 50 percent or more annually, making it difficult to manage the rapid expansion of information.
Datalight was a privately held software company specializing in power failsafe and high performance software for preserving data integrity in embedded systems. The company was founded in 1983 by Roy Sherrill, and is headquartered in Bothell, Washington. As of 2019 the company is a subsidiary of Tuxera under the name of Tuxera US Inc.
Bitcasa, Inc. was an American cloud storage company founded in 2011 in St. Louis, Missouri. The company was later based in Mountain View, California until it shut down in 2017.
Abiquo Hybrid Cloud Management Platform is a web-based cloud computing software platform developed by Abiquo. Written entirely in Java, it is used to build, integrate and manage public and private clouds in homogeneous environments. Users can deploy and manage servers, storage system and network and virtual devices. It also supports LDAP integration.
