Floorball is a type of floor hockey with five players and a goalkeeper in each team. It is played indoors with 96–115.5 cm-long (37.8–45.5 in) sticks and a 70–72 mm-diameter (2.76–2.83 in) plastic ball with holes. Matches are played in three twenty-minute periods. The sport of bandy also played a role in the game's development.
Swedish Super League is the highest league in the league system of Swedish floorball and comprises the top 14 Swedish floorball teams. The first season began in 1995–96. The season ends with a play-off and a final.
The International Floorball Federation (IFF) is the worldwide governing body for the sport of floorball. It was founded on 12 April 1986 in Huskvarna, Sweden, by representatives from the national floorball associations of Finland, Sweden and Switzerland. It is recognized by the IOC and is an ordinary member of the ARISF.
The Latvia Men's National Floorball Team is the national floorball team of Latvia, and a member of the International Floorball Federation. Its biggest successes are seven fifth places from the World Championships in 2006, 2008, 2010, 2014, 2018, 2020 and 2022 a and the fourth place from the floorball tournament at the 2022 World Games.
The F-liiga is the top men's floorball league in Finland. The league was founded as Salibandyn SM-sarja in 1986 by the Finnish Floorball Federation (SSBL). It was renamed to Salibandyliiga for the 1994–95 season. The Salibandyliiga was operated by the company SSBL Salibandy Oy, a subsidiary of the Finnish Floorball Federation. The current name F-liiga is used since season 2020–21.
The Champions Cup is floorball tournament organized by the International Floorball Federation for the best clubs from the top four countries according to IFF World Ranking. Since 2019, those are Finland, Sweden, the Czech Republic and Switzerland, both for men and women. The tournament culminates every year in January both for men's and women's teams, that won in the previous season in their national league and cup competitions. The leagues are Finnish F-liiga, Swedish Svenska Superligan, Czech men's Superliga florbalu and women's Extraliga žen ve florbale and Swiss Unihockey Prime League. That means, there are eight men's and either women's teams in the tournament in total.

The 2011 Women's World Floorball Championships were the eighth world championships in women's floorball. The tournament was held from 4 December to 11 December 2011 in St. Gallen, Switzerland. The matches took place in Athletik Zentrum and Kreuzbleichhalle.

The floorball competition at the 2022 World Games took place in July 2022, in Birmingham, United States, at the BJCC East Exhibition Hall. Originally scheduled to take place in July 2021, the Games were rescheduled for July 2022 as a result of the 2020 Summer Olympics postponement due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2020 Men's World Floorball Championships was the 13th World Championships in men's floorball. The tournament took place in Helsinki, Finland, during 3–11 December 2021. The tournament was originally intended to be played between 4–12 December 2020, but on 7 December 2020, it was rescheduled one year into the future due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The Czech Republic men's under-19 national floorball team is the men's under-19 national floorball team of the Czech Republic, and a member of the International Floorball Federation. The team is composed of the best Czech floorball players under the age of 19.
The 2023 Women's World Floorball Championships was the 14th edition of this competition. It was held from 2 to 10 December 2023 in Singapore, marking the first time that it was not in Europe since 2005. Sweden were the 8-time defending champion, and they made it nine with a 6–4 win over Finland in the final.
The 2025 Women's World Floorball Championships will be the 15th edition of this competition. It will held from 6 to 14 December 2025 in Brno and Ostrava in the Czech Republic. Sweden are the 7-time defending champions.
The 2024 IFF Men's World Floorball Championships qualification is a series of tournaments to decide the teams which will play in the 2024 Men's World Floorball Championships. The 2024 World Championship will once again feature 16 teams. 1 place were allocated to the hosts, Sweden. The remaining 15 places will be determined by a qualification process, in which entrants from among the other teams from the five IFF confederations will compete.
The 2023 Men's U-19 World Floorball Championships was the 12th edition of the championship. The tournament was played in Frederikshavn, Denmark, and took place from 26 to 30 April. Czech Republic were the two-time defending champions, but were beaten by Switzerland in the semifinals. Sweden won their sixth title after triumphing over the Swiss in the final.
The 2025 Men's U-19 World Floorball Championships is the 13th edition of the championship. The tournament was played in Zürich, Switzerland, and will take place from 29 April to 4 May. Sweden are the defending champions.
