Floorball is a type of floor hockey with five players and a goalkeeper in each team. It is played indoors with 96–115.5 cm-long (37.8–45.5 in) sticks and a 70–72 mm-diameter (2.76–2.83 in) plastic ball with holes. Matches are played in three twenty-minute periods. The sport of bandy also played a role in the game's development.
The International Floorball Federation (IFF) is the worldwide governing body for the sport of floorball. It was founded on 12 April 1986 in Huskvarna, Sweden, by representatives from the national floorball associations of Finland, Sweden and Switzerland. It is recognized by the IOC and is an ordinary member of the ARISF.

The F-liiga is the top men’s floorball league in Finland. The league was founded as Salibandyn SM-sarja in 1986 by the Finnish Floorball Federation (SSBL). It was renamed to Salibandyliiga for the 1994–95 season. The Salibandyliiga was operated by the company SSBL Salibandy Oy, a subsidiary of the Finnish Floorball Federation. The current name F-liiga is used since season 2020–21.
The Champions Cup is floorball tournament organized by the International Floorball Federation for the best clubs from the top four countries according to IFF World Ranking. As of 2023, those are Finland, Sweden, the Czech Republic and Switzerland, both for men and women. The tournament takes place every year in January both for men's and women's teams, that won in the previous season in their national leagues. Those are Finnish F-liiga, Swedish Svenska Superligan, Czech men's Superliga florbalu and women's Extraliga žen ve florbale and Swiss Unihockey Prime League. That means, there are eight teams in the tournament in total. Since 2024, winners of national cups will also attend. The competing countries alternate in hosting the tournament. The event lasts two days.
The Men's World Floorball Championship is an international floorball competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of the International Floorball Federation (IFF), the sport's global governing body. It is distinct from the Women's World Floorball Championship, which is for women's teams. They were preceded by the European Championships which were held twice in 1994 and 1995. Originally played in May–June, the IFF decided in 2007 to move the tournament to early-December starting in 2008.
The 2010 Men's World Floorball Championships Qualifying Rounds were the first such qualifiers for world championships in men's floorball. Four separate qualifying tournaments were played, with European qualifications between the dates of February 3 to February 6, 2010 in the cities of Babimost and Zbąszyń in Poland, as well as in the city of San Lorenzo de El Escorial in Spain.
The 2011 Women's World Floorball Championships were the eighth world championships in women's floorball. The tournament was held from 4 December to 11 December 2011 in St. Gallen, Switzerland. The matches took place in Athletik Zentrum and Kreuzbleichhalle.
The Philippines men's national floorball team is the national floorball team of the Philippines and is organized by the Philippine Floorball Association.

The 2019 IFF Women's World Floorball Championships was the 12th staging of the Women's World Floorball Championship, contested by the senior women's national teams of the members of the International Floorball Federation (IFF), the sport's global governing body. The final tournament took place in Neuchâtel, Switzerland from 7 to 15 December 2019. Switzerland played hosts for this event for the third time.
The 2019 IFF Women's World Floorball Championships qualification is a series of tournaments to decide teams which will play in the 2019 Women's World Floorball Championships. The 2019 World Championship will feature 16 teams. 1 place were allocated to the hosts, Switzerland. The remaining 15 places will be determined by a qualification process, in which entrants from among the other teams from the five IFF confederations will compete.
Superliga florbalu is the highest league in the league system of Czech men's floorball and comprises the top 14 Czech floorball teams. The season culminates in a play-off played by the best ten teams. The first season began in 1993–94.

The 2020 Men's World Floorball Championships was the 13th World Championships in men's floorball. The tournament took place in Helsinki, Finland, during 3–11 December 2021. The tournament was originally intended to be played between 4–12 December 2020, but on 7 December 2020, it was announced it would be rescheduled one year into the future because of to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The United StatesMen's Under-19 National Floorball Team is the men's under-19 national floorball team of the United States, and a member of the International Floorball Federation. The team is composed of the best American floorball players under the age of 19. The United States' under-19 men's team is currently ranked 14th in the world at floorball, and played in the B-Division at the most recent U-19 World Floorball Championships.
The RussiaMen's Under-19 National Floorball Team is the men's under-19 national floorball team of Russia, and a member of the International Floorball Federation. The team is composed of the best Russian floorball players under the age of 19. The Russian under-19 men's team is currently ranked 11th in the world at floorball, and played in the B-Division at the most recent U-19 World Floorball Championships.
