The film is directed by Ramkumar Subbaraman, a former assistant of Balasekaran and Prabhu Solomon. [2] The film is about the consequences of rape crime. [3] [4] The title IPC 376 is based on the Indian penal code section for rape crime. [5] [6] [7] The film was planned to be made as a Tamil and Telugu language bilingual. The music and background score for the film is composed by Simon K. King, with cinematography handled by Rasamathi and editing done by Praveen K. L. It was simultaneously made in Telugu as Kapatadhaari with Sumanth in the lead role. The film released on 28 January 2021.
