The IWRF Americas Championship or IWRF Americas Zone Championship is the Americas wheelchair rugby championships that take place every two years between national teams of the Americas zone. The Americas Championship is a qualifying tournament for the IWRF World Championships and the Paralympic Games.
Canada participated in the IWRF Asia-Oceania Championship in 2007.

Wheelchair rugby is a team sport for athletes with a disability. It is practised in over twenty-five countries around the world and is a summer Paralympic sport.
The Wheel Blacks are the national wheelchair rugby team of New Zealand. The team won the gold medal at the 2004 Summer Paralympics. The 2006 Wheel Blacks were captained by Tim Johnson and coached by Grant Sharman. The Wheel Blacks name is one of many national team nicknames related to the All Blacks.

The Wheelchair rugby tournament at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan was the seventh edition of Wheelchair rugby as a Paralympic sport since its debut as a demonstration sport at the 1996 Summer Paralympics in Atlanta. The competition was hosted at the Yoyogi National Stadium and was held from 25 to 29 August 2021.
