"I Don't Wanna Be Lonely" is the eighteenth single by Dutch girl group Luv', released in early 1990 by the labels Dureco/High Fashion Music. It appears on the EP For You, featuring a formation different from the original line-up.
After the release of the 1989 single "Welcome to My Party", which marked Luv's comeback, the next single taken from the 1989 EP For You was "I Don't Wanna Be Lonely", a cover version of a 1989 club hit by Joan Orleans. The music arrangements of this song were inspired by those of the hits released by PWL, the British leading dance label in the late 1980s.
The Parliaments were an American vocal quintet from Plainfield, New Jersey, United States. Originally formed in the back room of a barbershop in 1956, the quintet was named after the cigarette brand. The Parliaments initially performed doo-wop music; after some early personnel changes their lineup solidified with George Clinton, Ray Davis, Fuzzy Haskins, Calvin Simon, and Grady Thomas. Clinton was group leader and manager, and part owner of the barbershop where the group convened to entertain customers. The group later changed its style, evolving into the bands Parliament and Funkadelic, which found success in the 1970s.

A sequel to the song titled "Where You Are " appeared on Jones' next album Life Goes On in 2002. The track has significantly influenced the R&B genre, evident in its widespread sampling by prominent artists. Notably, in 2017, singer Mariah Carey incorporated elements of the song into her single "I Don't", featuring rapper YG.

I Nine were a pop rock band formed c. 2004. In 2005, filmmaker Cameron Crowe asked the band to perform the closing credits song, "Same in Any Language," for his movie Elizabethtown. After being signed by label J Records, their single "Seven Days of Lonely" was released through iTunes in September 2007 and was subsequently chosen by iTunes as the service's "free single of the week" from February 19 to 25, 2008. Their debut studio album, Heavy Weighs the King, was released on May 6, 2008.
V*Enna was a Christian pop music and dance duo made up of members Lucy Britten and Sharnessa Shelton. The group was formed by Mark Pennells and Zarc Porter previously from the World Wide Message Tribe as a response to pop stars such as Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson. V*Enna scored three singles on Christian radio: "Where I Wanna Be", "Do You Wanna Know?" and "All the Way to Heaven". Britten left before the final concerts in September 2001; they were performed by Bessie Jean Sopeland and Shelton.

Story Untold is a Canadian rock band based in Laval, Quebec. Founded in 2012, the band signed with Hopeless Records in May 2016. Shortly after signing, they recorded their self-titled EP, then went on tour with Simple Plan and Hit the Lights. Story Untold current line-up included vocalist and main songwriter Janick Thibault and drummer Jonathan Landry. In December 2019, the band left Hopeless Records and now remain as an independent group.
