Kent County Cricket Club is one of the eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Kent. A club representing the county was first founded in 1842 but Kent teams have played top-class cricket since the early 18th century,and the club has always held first-class status. The current Kent County Cricket Club was formed on 6 December 1870 following the merger of two representative teams. Kent have competed in the County Championship since the official start of the competition in 1890 and have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England. The club's limited overs team is called the Kent Spitfires after the Supermarine Spitfire.
Frank Edward Woolley was an English professional cricketer who played for Kent County Cricket Club between 1906 and 1938 and for the England cricket team. A genuine all-rounder,Woolley was a left-handed batsman and a left-arm bowler. He was an outstanding fielder close to the wicket and is the only non wicket-keeper to have held over 1,000 catches in a first-class career,whilst his total number of runs scored is the second highest of all time and his total number of wickets taken the 27th highest.
Ernest William "Jim" Swanton was an English journalist and author,chiefly known for being a cricket writer and commentator under his initials,E. W. Swanton. He worked as a sports journalist for The Daily Telegraph and as a broadcaster for BBC Radio for 30 years. He was a regular commentator on Test Match Special,easily recognised by his distinctive "fruity" voice. After "retiring" in the 1970s,he continued to write occasional articles and columns until his death in 2000.
Robin Geoffrey Marlar was an English cricketer and cricket journalist. He played for Cambridge University before playing for Sussex County Cricket Club from 1951 to 1968. He captained both teams.

Edwin George Witherden,known as Ted Witherden,was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Kent County Cricket Club from 1951 to 1955. He later went on to be one of the most successful batsmen to play in the Minor Counties Championship,playing for Norfolk County Cricket Club between 1956 and 1962. In later life he was a successful groundsman and cricket coach in Bishop's Stortford.
Arthur Owen Snowden was a teacher and an English amateur cricketer. He played in six first-class cricket matches between 1905 and 1912.
Bernard Douglas Bannon was an English solicitor and sportsman who played first-class cricket as an amateur for Kent County Cricket Club and Oxford University between 1895 and 1900.
Malcolm Francis Olton,known as Mike Olton,was an English former first-class cricketer who played for the Trinidad cricket team and Kent County Cricket Club between 1959 and 1962. He was born in San Fernando,Trinidad in 1938.
Edward William Joseph Fillary,known as Ted Fillary,is a former English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Oxford University and Kent County Cricket Club between 1963 and 1966.
