Matheus Christiaan van Zyl, known as Ian van Zyl (born April 6, 1980 in Grootfontein, Otjozondjupa Region) , is a Namibian cricketer. He made his first-class debut for the Namibian team against Uganda in the 2005 ICC Intercontinental Cup. In the same competition the following year, he took 8-34 against Ireland, albeit in a losing cause. van Zyl also appeared in the 2005 ICC Trophy.

2005 ICC Intercontinental Cup

The 2005 ICC Intercontinental Cup was the second edition of the ICC Intercontinental Cup, a cricket competition for (then) 12 nations from Asia, Africa, North America and Europe. All the games were scheduled for three days and were designated first class.

The 2005 ICC Trophy was a cricket tournament held in Ireland between 1 July and 13 July. It was an international one-day tournament played over 50 overs per side between 12 Associate Members of the International Cricket Council. 2006–07 ICC Intercontinental Cup

The 2006–07 ICC Intercontinental Cup was the third edition of the ICC Intercontinental Cup first-class cricket tournament, an international cricket tournament between nations who have not been awarded Test status by the International Cricket Council. Defending champions Ireland won the tournament after three wins and one drawn game, defeating Canada by an innings in the final, and stretched their streak of unbeaten matches in the Intercontinental Cup to eight.

Namibia womens national cricket team

The Namibia women's national cricket team represents the country of Namibia in international women's cricket. The team is organised by the Namibia Cricket Board, which has been a member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1992.

The Botswana women's cricket team toured Namibia in March–April 2019 to play a five-match Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) series. The venue for all of the matches was the United Ground in Windhoek. The tournament provided Namibia with some preparation for the 2019 ICC Women's Qualifier Africa. Both matches due to be played on the first day of the series were abandoned without a toss due to rain, and rescheduled for the reserve day, with the series listed in Cricinfo as a seven-match series. Namibia won the series 5–0.

Irene van Zyl is a Namibian cricketer. She made her Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) debut for the Namibia women's cricket team on 1 April 2019, against Botswana, during Botswana's tour of Namibia.
