The Icebreaker Challenge is an annual cashspiel, or curling tournament, that takes place in Manitoba. [1] The Event was part of the World Curling Tour from 2017 to 2019. The 2016 event was known as the 2016 Performance Spider Midweek Special and was held in Waterloo, Ontario and was only part of the Ontario Curling Tour. [2] The 2016 event included both genders, and in 2017 a separate women's event was added. Both the 2017 and 2018 events were held at the Granite Curling Club in Winnipeg. The 2017 event was known as the Spider Performance Icebreaker At The Granite and in 2018 it was known as the GOLDLINE Icebreaker At The Granite. Beginning in 2019 the event is being held at the Morris Curling Club in Morris, Manitoba. After a four-season hiatus, the event returned in 2023 with only a women's field.

She was a Canadian Junior Curling Champion having won the 2008 Canadian Junior Championships as a second on the Kaitlyn Lawes team. Fyfe is the daughter of former Brier champion Vic Peters.

Braden Calvert is a Canadian curler from Carberry, Manitoba. He currently skips his own team out of Winnipeg. He is a former World Junior curling champion and two-time Canadian junior champion.

The 2017–18 curling season began in May 2017 and ended in May 2018.

The 2018 GOLDLINE Icebreaker at The Granite was held from August 24 to 26 at the Granite Curling Club in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It was the second event on the World Curling Tour for the 2018–19 season. The men's event was held in a double knockout format and the women's event was held in a round robin format.

The 2019–20 curling season began in June 2019 and was scheduled to end in May 2020. However, the coronavirus pandemic declared in March 2020 resulted in the cancellation of events and the premature ending of the season.

Connor Njegovan is a Canadian curler from Winnipeg, Manitoba. He currently plays lead on Team Reid Carruthers.

The 2019 Cargill Curling Training Centre Icebreaker was held from August 23 to 25 in Morris, Manitoba. It was the fourth event of the 2019–20 curling season. The total purse for the event was $7,480 on both the Men's and Women's side.

The 2019 Colonial Square Ladies Classic was held from September 27 to 30 at the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan as part of the World Curling Tour. The event was held in a triple-knockout format with a purse of $30,000.
