Season chronology |
Idol Poland (season 1) was the first season of Idol Poland . It was the first international adaption of the British singing competition Pop Idol and the first show that went by the simple title Idol. It premiered on April 5, 2002, one month after the final of the original series, and lasted for six months until June 30. Alicja Janosz won over Ewelina Flinta and Szymon Wydra and therefore became the first female winner of the Idol series. It was also the first time that two females made it to the grand finale. On Christmas 2003 Janosz would compete with ten other countries Idol winners on World Idol where she eventually placed 8th.
As the show became a runaway success most finalists got signed and next to Janosz her fellow competitors Ewelina Flinta, Szymon Wydra, Tomasz Makowiecki (with Makowicki Band), Patrcyja Wódz (with girlgroup Queen) and most notably Anna Dąbrowska were able to established careers on the polish music market and enjoyed long running success.
Marcin Mroziński, who made it to the semifinals but was eliminated in the wildcard round, went on to establish a musical career before becoming one of polish most popular singers and represented Poland in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2010 where he was eliminated in the semifinals. [1]

American Idol is an American singing competition television series created by Simon Fuller, produced by Fremantle North America and 19 Entertainment, and distributed by Fremantle North America. It aired on Fox from June 11, 2002, to April 7, 2016, for 15 seasons. It was on hiatus for two years until March 11, 2018, when a revival of the series began airing on ABC.
Idol is a reality television singing competition format created by British television producer Simon Fuller and developed by Fremantle. The format began in 2001 with the British television series Pop Idol; its first adaptation was the South African series Idols in 2002. It has since become the world's most widely watched television franchise, as well as one of the most successful entertainment formats, adapted in over 56 regions around the world, with its various versions broadcast to 150 countries with a worldwide audience of roughly 3.2 billion people. The franchise has generated more than $2.5 billion in revenue.
Edyta Anna Górniak is a Polish pop singer. Górniak started as a musical theatre actress in 1990. She performed in the most popular musical in Polish history, the Tony Award-nominated Metro. Some of its shows took place on Broadway. Górniak was Poland's first representative in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 with the song "To nie ja". She placed second which still remains the country's best result at the competition. This started her decades-long career as a pop singer in her native country and internationally. She is also known for her 1997 single "One and One". She is the recipient of the Bronze Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis for her contributions to the arts.
Ewelina Agnieszka Flinta is a Polish singer. She rose to fame after placing second in the Polish talent show Idol in 2002. Between 2003 and 2008, Flinta released two albums and scored a number of hits, such as "Żałuję", "Goniąc za cieniem", "Nie znasz mnie" and "Nie kłam, że kochasz mnie". She actively supports charities and NGOs working for disadvantaged children and environmental causes.

You Can Dance – Po prostu tańcz! is a televised Polish dance competition with a format based on the American show So You Think You Can Dance. Dancers compete to win PLN 100,000, and a 3-month scholarship in dance school Broadway Dance Center and International Dance Academy in Los Angeles from season 7 on. The winners to date are : Maciek "Gleba" Florek, Artur Cieciórski, Wiola Fiuk, Ania Kapera, Jakub Jóżwiak, Dominik Olechowski, Brian Poniatowski, Mateusz Sobecko and Stefano Silvino.

Poland participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with the song "Legenda" written by Marcin Nierubiec and Marcin Mroziński. The song was performed by Marcin Mroziński. The Polish broadcaster Telewizja Polska (TVP) organised the national final Krajowe Eliminacje 2010 in order to select the Polish entry for the 2010 contest in Oslo, Norway. The national final took place on 14 February 2010 and featured ten entries. "Legenda" performed by Marcin Mroziński was selected as the winner after gaining 33.61% of the public vote.

Later, 36 contestants do the workshops abroad - this season in Barcelona, Spain. This seasons on choreography camp special guest choreographer was Brian Friedman. From sixteen people, two dancers are eliminated in each episode. In every episode couples are randomly picked. The final episode that features the top three contestants. The show is hosted by Kinga Rusin. The judges are Agustin Egurrola, Michał Piróg and Weronika Marczuk-Pazura. It premiered on 10 September 2008. Wioletta Fiuk was announced as the winner on 3 December 2008.

Mam talent! is the Polish version of the Got Talent series. The aim of the program is to choose the most talented person from people showing their talents. The winner of the show in the first series got €100,000, in the second and third series – 300,000 złotys. Prizes for people from the second and third place are chosen by producers of the shows. The show is hosted by Agnieszka Woźniak-Starak and Jan Pirowski, and the judges are Agnieszka Chylińska, Marcin Prokop and Julia Wieniawa.
X Factor was a Polish talent show based on a British show The X Factor and broadcast on TVN. The first series premiered on 6 March 2011. On 27 November 2010, during the season 3 finale of Poland's Got Talent, Marcin Prokop confirmed that the auditions would be held in January 2011. That was also the first public statement from TVN about X Factor.
