Jolin Tsai is a Taiwanese singer, songwriter, and actress. Referred to as the "Queen of C-Pop", she is considered one of the most influential people in Chinese popular culture. She is known for her continual reinvention and versatility in musical style and visual image, and she has achieved reputation and popularity in the Chinese-speaking world. She maintains in charge of every aspect of her career, and she is regarded as a key figure of popularizing dance-pop as mainstream music in Greater China. Her works, which incorporate social themes, have generated both commercial success and critical acclaim.

Castle is the sixth studio album by Taiwanese singer Jolin Tsai. It was released on 27 February 2004, by Sony Music Taiwan. Following the success of her last studio album, Magic (2003), Tsai continued to secure her A-list status with the new release. Tsai again rang up huge sales with the album, which further increased her popularity in her native Taiwan as well as in other Asian countries. The album has sold more than 2 million copies in Asia, with more than 300,000 copies sold in Taiwan alone, and became the best-selling album by a female artist of the year in Taiwan. The second track, "It's Love", reached number 8 on the Hit FM Top 100 Singles of the Year. The opening track, "36 Tricks of Love", reached number 78 on the chart. The album earned Tsai an MTV Asia Award nomination for Favorite Artist Taiwan. The music video of the lead single, "Pirates", earned Tsai an MTV Video Music Award Japan nomination for Best Buzz Asia.

Tsai emerged champion at an MTV singing competition at the age of 18, and it kickstarted her singing career and paved the way to her journey in becoming a teen idol. In March 1999, Tsai signed a recording deal with Universal. After she signed with the label, Tsai's debut single, "Living with the World", was released in July 1999. The single was a big success, and led to the release of the album, which has sold more than 400,000 copies in Taiwan alone. Referred to as the "Teenage Boy Killer", Tsai became an instant hit among teenagers in Taiwan. The lead single, "I Know You're Feeling Blue", reached number 30 on the Hit FM Top 100 Singles of the Year.
Show Your Love is the third studio album by Taiwanese singer Jolin Tsai. It was released on 22 December 2000, by Universal Music Taiwan. Tsai surprised many listeners with the album, which positioned her as a more mature and seductive songstress. However, not everyone liked the change of pace and the album fared poorly. The sales of the album were not as good as her previous two studio albums, with only more than 260,000 copies sold in Taiwan alone, and made her the eleventh best-selling singer of the year in Taiwan. The third track, "Do You Still Love Me", reached number 30 on the Hit FM Top 100 Singles of the Year. The music video of the seventh track, "Fall in Love with a Street", won an MTV Video Music Award for International Viewer's Choice. Tsai also increased her exposure to other Asian countries with the release of the album, and made her first live performance in Japan in March 2001.

It melds dancehall with bubblegum pop, breathtaking love songs with hilariously catty weirdness and euphorically catchy melodies with propulsive rhythms.

The album was in support of her second concert tour, Dancing Forever World Tour, and contains remixes of tracks from her studio album, Dancing Diva (2006), and seven new tracks. It also contains a video that chronicles Tsai's Pulchritude Concert at Kaohsiung Cultural Center in Kaohsiung, Taiwan on 1 July 2006. The fifth track, "Marry Me Today", which is a duet with Taiwanese singer David Tao, won a Golden Melody Award for Song of the Year and reached number 1 on the Hit FM Top 100 Singles of the Year. Myself World Tour is the sixth live album by Taiwanese singer Jolin Tsai. It was released on 19 October 2013, by Warner Music Taiwan. Tsai embarked on the Myself World Tour for promotion of her eleventh studio album Myself (2010). The album was recorded at Taipei Arena during the Taipei dates of the tour on December 22–23, 2012. Tsai's pervious record labels Universal, Sony, and Capitol authorized an array of copyrighted tracks being included on the album, and it was the most completed live album of her career to this date.
