Ignatius Yunan was the Patriarch of Antioch and head of the Syriac Orthodox Church from 1817 until 1818 when he resigned from the Holy See and went to live in the Monastery of Mor Elias until his death in 1823. His time as a patriarch was the shortest among all Syriac Orthodox patriarchs. [1] Patriarch Ignatius Matthew selected him to the office of Maphrian of the East in 1803 but at the beginning of 1817, he invited him to be his successor in contradiction to the tradition of the church and that is why he is considered by some as illegitimate patriarch until Ignatius Matthew died and then he was duly elected as a patriarch. [1] He was known of his piety and continues fasting [2] but that didn’t help him in managing the affairs of the Patriarchate and alienated some faithful in the city of Mardin. [1] When he saw that, he decided to abdicate the See of Antioch and went to live in the Monastery of MOR Elias in Tur-Abdin until he died in 1823. [1]
There is no information if Ignatius Yunan ordained any Metropolitan in his short time as a patriarch. However, one of the future patriarchs Ignatius Jacob II studied under him after he went to live in the Monastery of MOR Elias in Tur-Abdin. [2]
Tur Abdin is a hilly region situated in southeast Turkey, including the eastern half of the Mardin Province, and Şırnak Province west of the Tigris, on the border with Syria and famed since Late Antiquity for its Christian monasteries on the border of the Roman Empire and the Sasanian Empire. The area is a low plateau in the Anti-Taurus Mountains stretching from Mardin in the west to the Tigris in the east and delimited by the Mesopotamian plains to the south. The Tur Abdin is populated by more than 80 villages and nearly 70 monastery buildings and was mostly Syriac Orthodox until the early 20th century. The earliest surviving Christian buildings date from the 6th century.
Mor Ignatius Jacob (Yaʿqub) III was the 121st Syriac Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and head of the Syriac Orthodox Church 1957–1980. He was skilled in and knowledgeable in Syriac sacral music or Beth Gazo. He re-established the Maphrianate/Catholicate in the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church.
Mor Ignatius Aphrem I Barsoum was the 120th Syriac Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and head of the Syriac Orthodox Church from 1933 until his death in 1957. He was consecrated as a Metropolitan and as a Patriarch at a very hard time for the Syriac Orthodox church and its people and parishes and he worked very hard to re-establish the church initiations to where his people moved. He researched, wrote, translated, scriped, and published many scholarly works that included books on the saints, tradition, liturgy, music, and history of Syriac Orthodox Church.
MorIgnatius Abded Aloho II Sattuf also Ignatius Abdullah ll Stephan was the Patriarch of Antioch, and head of the Syriac Orthodox Church from 1906 until his death in 1915.

Mor Yulios Elias Qoro (born Elias Mar Julius; 1 August 1881 – February 19, 1962) was a Syriac Orthodox Church bishop and the Patriarchal Delegate of India, Born as Elias Malke Qoro at Mardin on August 1, 1881, educated at school of the Church of the Forty Martyrs of Sebaste. He joined Dayro d-Kurkmo in 1902, and became a monk on 16 June 1905. He was appointed secretary to Ignatius Abded Aloho II Patriarch of Antioch in 1906, and was ordained Qashisho in 1908. He became abbot of Mor Hananyo Monastery in 1911, and was appointed director of its printing press. He was consecrated bishop on 23 September 1923 in the Church of the Forty Martyrs by Ignatius Elias III Patriarch of Antioch, appointed to serve in Malankara. He served as Patriarchal Delegate to Malankara in 1927. In 1932, he established Mor Ignatius Dayro Manjinikkara on the tomb of Elias III Patriarch of Antioch at Omallur, Kerala. He established and approved order for various monasteries and churches in Kerala. He died in 1962 at Omallur, Kerala, India and was buried at Mor Ignatius Dayro Manjinikkara.
