Ilkka Villi (born 4 August 1975) is a Finnish actor and writer, best known internationally for his work in the Alan Wake video games as well as the crime drama series Bordertown . He has played a variety of roles in theatre, television, and film.
Before proceeding with an acting career, Villi worked as a radio journalist and writer. [1]
Villi plays one half of the titular character in the Alan Wake video game franchise. In the role, Villi provides virtual reference for the character model, motion capture, and facial expression capture for Wake, while Matthew Porretta voices the character both in-game and during live-action cutscenes. [2]
In 2016, Villi was cast as one of the lead police investigators in the crime drama series Bordertown, which was picked up by streaming service Netflix. [3]

Bordertown is a Finnish crime drama and Nordic noir television series created by Miikko Oikkonen and starring Ville Virtanen as detective inspector Kari Sorjonen. The first season, which consisted of eleven episodes, premiered in Finland on 16 October 2016 on Yle TV1. Season two, containing ten episodes, premiered on 7 October 2018, and season three, containing another ten episodes, premiered in December 2019.
Control is a 2019 action-adventure game developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by 505 Games. The 20th British Academy Video Game Awards were hosted by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts on 11 April 2024 to honour the best video games of 2023. Held at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, the ceremony was hosted by comedian Phil Wang for the first time. Nominations were announced on March 7, 2024, with epic fantasy roleplaying game Baldur's Gate 3 earning a leading eleven nominations. Charity SpecialEffect was honoured with the BAFTA Special Award for their work in making gaming more accessible to people with physical disabilities. Baldur's Gate 3 received the most wins at the ceremony, with five including Best Game.
