In Deep is an album by jazz musician Mark Lockheart, released in 2009 on Edition Records.
In Deep received universally good reviews. In The Guardian , John Fordham said "Lockheart picked the right title: that's exactly where it takes you" and awarded it 4 stars. [1] In All About Jazz , John Kelman wrote "The line-up may suggest mainstream, but this is no straight-ahead session...As impressive as Lockheart was on Moving Air, his playing has become even more muscular, combining the late Michael Brecker's visceral power with his own kind of tension-and-release." [2] The Yorkshire Post wrote "Lockheart's work nods to Coltrane and Michael Brecker, but he's firmly his own man." [3] Ray Comiskey in the Irish Times drew attention to Lockheart's skills in utilising the talents of his band "Lockheart’s voicings (using some brass overdubbing) have a fine appreciation of the tonal qualities the players bring to the table". [4] Ian Mann said the album was a "strong candidate for Lockheart's best work to date". [5] Lockheart was interviewed in Jazzwise in June 2009, where he explained that the title of the album described how improvising is about connecting with another musician at a very deep level. [6]

The Parliamentary Jazz Awards in the United Kingdom are organised by the All Party Parliamentary Jazz Appreciation Group (APPJAG) at the Houses of Parliament in London. The group consists of over a hundred members drawn from across the UK political parties. The awards were the brainchild Bob Blizzard, a long-time enthusiast of the jazz genre who was concerned that there was a lack of national recognition for the work of jazz performers and venues across the UK. Blizzard was involved with organising and running the awards for 11 years. Also supporting the awards are Jazz Services, Jazz UK, Jazzwise, the UK Musicians' Union jazz section, and PPL.
To the One is an album released by British jazz guitarist John McLaughlin. It is his first album with his band, the 4th Dimension. The album was released in 2010 on Abstract Logix Records and was produced by McLaughlin. It reached number 27 on the Billboard Jazz Albums Chart and was nominated for the 2011 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album.

Marius Søfteland Neset is a Norwegian jazz musician (saxophone) living in Copenhagen. He is known from collaborations within the jazz bands "People Are Machines", "Kaktusch", "JazzKamikaze" and Django Bates projects "StoRMChaser" big band and "Human Chain". He is the son of music teachers guitarist Terje Neset and pianist Anne Leni Søfteland Sæbø, and the brother of the vocalist Anna Søfteland Neset flautist Ingrid Søfteland Neset.
