In Mourning is a melodic death metal band from Vansbro, Sweden. They are currently signed to Dalapop. They have released six full-length albums with their latest The Bleeding Veil, released in November 2021.

History

Apart from their debut album, the band has published several self-released demos. [1] Their debut album, Shrouded Divine, released on 2 January 2008 by Aftermath Music, [2] has received mostly favorable reviews, especially by European music websites and magazines. [3] [4] [5] Their second album Monolith was released on 25 January 2010 by Pulverised Records, with which they would have a contract for two albums. [6]

On 29 November 2011, the band announced on their official website that Spinefarm Records would be releasing their new album, The Weight of Oceans , in 2012. The album entered the Finnish charts at number 40. [7]

On 16 January 2014, it was announced that drummer Christian Netzell had decided to leave the band after 14 years of playing due to musical differences. On the same day it was noted that drummer Mattias Bender would replace Netzell for their Trondheim Metal Fest show, and for the rest of the 2014 tour season.

On 26 March 2014, In Mourning announced Bender will now be their permanent full-time drummer and is set to be involved in the recording of their new album.

On 22 December 2014, In Mourning announced that Bender had left the band, and that Daniel Liljekvist, formerly of Katatonia, will step in for the Poland and Norway gigs. [8]

On 20 May 2016, In Mourning released their fourth studio album Afterglow on Agonia Records.

On 4 October 2019, In Mourning released their fifth studio album Garden of Storms on Agonia Records.

On 24 July 2020, In Mourning re-released their second studio album Monolith through Agonia Records. [9]

On 13 August 2021 Joakim Strandberg-Nilsson was revealed as Dark Tranquillity's session drummer for their upcoming tour in 2021 and 2022. [10]

On 26 November 2021 In Mourning released their sixth studio album The Bleeding Veil on Dalapop.

On 1 March 2024 it was announced that Joakim Strandberg-Nilsson leaves as Drummer of the band, being replaced by Cornelius Althammer, of the German Nautic Doom Band Ahab. [11]

Bengt Mikael Stanne is a Swedish musician, best known as the vocalist, primary lyricist and a former guitarist for the melodic death metal band Dark Tranquillity. Since the departure of original drummer Anders Jivarp in 2021, Stanne is the only remaining original member of the band. Stanne is also the vocalist for bands Grand Cadaver, the Halo Effect and Cemetery Skyline, which formed in 2020, 2021 and 2023, respectively. He was also an ex-vocalist for HammerFall and In Flames.

Threat Signal is a Canadian heavy metal band from Hamilton, Ontario. The band has had numerous lineup changes, with only Jon Howard remaining from the original incarnation. Their music is often classified as metalcore, melodic death metal, or groove metal.

Divine Heresy is an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles, California by founder of Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares and Devolved drummer John Sankey. Although the band's origins trace back to 2002, Divine Heresy was officially formed in 2006. The band currently consists of guitarist Cazares, former Vital Remains drummer and current World Under Blood drummer Tim Yeung, former Nile bassist Joe Payne and vocalist Travis Neal. Tommy "Vext" Cummings was fired from Divine Heresy following an onstage altercation on April 26, 2008. After holding auditions for a new frontman for the band, it was announced on August 14 that The Bereaved vocalist Travis Neal is to fill the position.

Aeon is a death metal band that formed in Östersund, Sweden, in 1999. The band comprises vocalist Tommy Dahlström, guitarists Sebastian Nilsson and Daniel Dlimi, bassist Tony Östman and drummer Timo Häkkinen. The band released its debut album, Bleeding the False, in 2005; and the second album Rise to Dominate in 2007, after signing a record deal with Metal Blade Records. The band's third album, Path of Fire, was released in 2010 and Aeons Black in 2012.

The track "In the End" is the album's lead single, and was offered as an instant download to everyone who pre-ordered the album from iTunes after October 31. Endtime Signals is the thirteenth studio album by Swedish melodic death metal band Dark Tranquillity, released on 16 August 2024 by Century Media Records. The album is the band's first to feature bassist Christian Jansson and drummer Joakim Strandberg Nilsson, who replaced longtime members Anders Iwers and Anders Jivarp after the latter two left the band in August 2021. The album also marks the band's return to recording as a five-piece after the previous album, Moment, was recorded as a six-piece.
