Nicholas Bracegirdle, known professionally as Chicane, is an English musician, composer, songwriter, and record producer. Among his works are singles "Offshore", an Ibiza trance anthem included in many compilations in both chill-out and dance versions; "Saltwater", which featured vocals by Clannad member Máire Brennan, and the UK number-one hit "Don't Give Up", featuring vocals by Bryan Adams, which also became a top ten hit on singles charts across Europe and Australia.

He studied art at Wakefield College (1990–91) and gained a BA (Hons) in photography at Nottingham Trent University (1991–94). The name of the song comes from a sign that a tramp was holding when they visited America, the sign read "Please give me money, you never know, I could be an angle" - an obvious misspelling of "angel".

She previously performed under the stage name Daisy Dares You, a reference to the character of the same name from the 1990s British television show ZZZap!. After performing under this name between 2009 and 2010 and recording an album which was never released, she was dropped by her record label. As of 2013 she is in a Brighton-based band called Pink Lizards, where she plays guitar and is the lead singer. From 2015 she has been performing and releasing music in her Brighton-based band Clever Thing alongside Rich Fownes

American rock band Matchbox Twenty have released four studio albums, one compilation album, one box set, three video albums, two extended plays, twenty-four singles and nineteen music videos. The band released their debut studio album, Yourself or Someone Like You, in October 1996. The album's lead single "Long Day" was moderately successful, while the album's second single "Push" received large amounts of airplay in the United States. As it was not released for commercial sale, "Push" was deemed ineligible by American chart provider Billboard to appear on its main Hot 100 singles chart. It did, however, peak at number five on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart and became a top-ten hit in countries such as Australia and Canada. With the success of "Push" and follow-up singles "3AM", "Real World" and "Back 2 Good", Yourself or Someone Like You eventually peaked at number five on the US Billboard 200 and was certified twelve-times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
