The Inauguration of Sooronbay Jeenbekov as the president of Kyrgyzstan took place on November 24, 2017, [1] in the Enesay reception house of the Ala Archa State Residence in Bishkek. [2] [3] The inauguration was declared the first peaceful transition of power in Kyrgyzstan in its 26-year history by foreign analyst.
Sooronbai Jeenbekov won the presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan that were held on October 15, 2017, beating his opponent Ömürbek Babanov with at least 54.67% of the national vote. His predecessor Almazbek Atambayev, who was limited by one six-year term as president, backed Jeenbekov very strongly for president.
The ceremony took place on November 24, 2017, being the first inauguration ceremony to take place at a state residence of the president of Kyrgyzstan since 2009. 450 people were invited to the inauguration ceremony, including Heroes of the Kyrgyz Republic, members of the Supreme Council, ambassadors to Kyrgyzstan, families of victims and participants of the Kyrgyz Revolution of 2010, as well as representatives of international organizations. [4] [5] The ceremony began at 10:00AM in the Enesai Reception House. [6] It began with Jeenbekov delivering an oath of office before the National Anthem of Kyrgyzstan was played Band of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan. Jeenbekov and outgoing president Almazbek Atambayev then gave remarks at the ceremony. After the ceremony at the state residence concluded, the now president Jeenbekov and former president Atambayev went to the White House where they were met by the Honour Guard Company of the National Guard of Kyrgyzstan, which awaited the two in order to begin the ceremony of Jeenbekov's assumption of the post of commander in chief of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan [7] After Jeenbekov and Atambayev inspected the guard of honor, a parade was held in honor of Jeenbekov.

He was Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan from 17 December 2010 to 1 December 2011, and from 29 March 2007 to 28 November 2007. He served as Chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan (SDPK) from 30 July 1999 to 23 September 2011.

The 2020 Kyrgyz Revolution, also known as the Third Kyrgyz Revolution, began on 5 October 2020, in response to the previous day's parliamentary election that was perceived by protestors as unfair, with allegations of vote rigging. The results of the election were annulled on 6 October 2020. On 12 October 2020, President Jeenbekov announced a state of emergency in the capital city of Bishkek, which was approved by Parliament the following day. Jeenbekov resigned on 15 October 2020.
The Order of Manas is the highest order of Kyrgyzstan. The order is awarded by the President of Kyrgyzstan. Established in 1996, the order recognizes outstanding service to Kyrgyzstan. The Social Democrats is a political party in Kyrgyzstan founded in late 2019 by supporters of former President Almazbek Atambayev - legal successor from the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan (SDKP). After a conflict between Atambaev and his successor President Sooronbai Jeenbekov emerged and deepened in 2018, Atambayev accused of Jeenbekov in attempting to seize authority over the SDKP, a party that Atambayev himself formed in 1990s and served as a leader of. The SDK participated in the annulled 2020 parliamentary election. Current party leader is Temirlan Sultanbekov.
