The Independence Day of Trujillo is a civic celebration held in the Peruvian city of Trujillo. This celebration has as central day in December 29 of every year in commemoration to the proclamation of the Independence of Trujillo that took place in 1820 and it is presented several ceremonies and cultural events in the city. On the commemoration of this civic date it is declared a holiday for the whole province for the festivities of this celebration. [1] [2] [3]

Víctor Larco Herrera also called commonly Víctor Larco is a district and a city of the north coast of Peru. It is located on a plain along the Pacific Ocean and is linked by a conurbation with Trujillo in La Libertad region. In 2010, Mexico celebrated both the 200th anniversary of its Independence and 100th anniversary of its Revolution. The entire year was proclaimed by President Felipe Calderón as "Año de la Patria", or "Year of the Nation." 16 September 1810 is the day of the "Grito de Dolores" or Miguel Hidalgo's call to take up arms against the Spanish colonial government. The start of the Mexican Revolution is celebrated as being 20 November 1910, when Francisco "Pancho" Villa and Pascual Orozco led the first insurrectionist attack against the regime of Porfirio Díaz. Events and other promotions of these celebrations were designed to link of Mexico's identity and historic continuity. During a speech at the inauguration of the Casa de Allende Historic Museum, President Felipe Calderón called upon Mexico to use the upcoming anniversaries to reflect on where the country has been and to think about what kind of Mexico descendants will inherit in the future. He said the vision of the insurgents of the War of Independence was forward, not backward, so every celebration of these past events must consider the future as well.

Historic Centre of Trujillo Place in La Libertad, Peru

The Historic Centre of Trujillo is the main urban area and the most important center of development and unfolding in the Peruvian city of Trujillo located in La Libertad Region. The whole process of its original urban fabric is in elliptical shape surrounded by España Avenue that was built in the wake of the Wall of Trujillo. It houses the seat of city government and other important entities in the locality. In the center of this historic urban area is the Plaza de Armas of Trujillo that was the scene of the Spanish founded of the city in 1534 and the proclamation of the independence of Trujillo on December 29, 1820.

The Trujillo Spring Festival is a festival and cultural event that takes place in the Peruvian city of Trujillo, between the end of September and beginning of October each year. This spring festival is considered one of the most representative of Trujillo city and honors its nickname of City of the everlasting spring. This festival is also one of the largest in the country and attracts the attendance of thousands of tourists from around the planet. The main attraction of this festival is a traditional Corsican or spring parade, involving mainly beauty queens of Lions clubs across the continent; in the parade there's a competition in the decoration about spring allegory and to be honored with the award called the gold lion. Trujillo Marinera Festival

Trujillo Marinera Festival is a Peruvian cultural event held annually in Trujillo city in January. The event focuses on a dance contest called the marinera, a typical dance of the city and of the country. The festival also presents parades, presentations and competitions of Peruvian paso horses. Both the marinera dance and the Peruvian paso horse have been declared to be part of the cultural heritage of the nation by the Peruvian government. This festival is one of the most important cultural events and representative of the country and Trujillo city has been recognized by the Peruvian government as the National Capital Marinera by Law Number 24447, of January 24, 1986.

San José Festival

San José Festival is a peruvian patronal feast, it is held in the resort called Las Delicias beach in the district of Moche near Trujillo city and the central day is 19 March, the celebrations last a week more or less; these days are of feast and it has been a tradition with a strong Spanish influence, which are enjoyed various activities for adults, youth and children, party hosts are Don Jose and Doña Josefa and Ms Maja, the event begins with the description of characters, activities, bars, flamenco dancing, etc.; This festival is accompanied by a procession of the patron Saint Joseph, the fashion show, the bullfighting, the parade of characters, and toromatch pamplonada in which involved several teams from other regions of the country. Some houses are become in Spanish bars decorated with motifs like flags, grimaldas and posters.

The fight for independence in the north began in the city of Trujillo between 1820 and 1821 and spread throughout north Peru, ending colonialism in nearly all of northern regions of Peru

Week anniversary of Trujillo Municipality

The Week anniversary of Trujillo Municipality also called Trujillo Jubilee Week is a celebration held the first week of March in the Peruvian city of Trujillo. This week of celebration has as central day on March 5 of every year in commemoration to the installation of the first cabildo in the city made in 1535 by Francisco Pizarro. In this week of celebration are presented several acts and festivals in the city. In the last edition of this anniversary week took place the Trujillo Book Festival held in the traditional Plazuela El Recreo.
