Her great-grandfather Nathuram "Shankar" Sharma [2] was poet of Hindi literature, and her grandfather Hari Shankar Sharma and father Kripa Shankar Sharma were also well known Hindi poets. She wrote about Indian ladies.
Kālidās was a Classical Sanskrit writer, widely regarded as the greatest poet and dramatist in the Sanskrit language of India. His plays and poetry are primarily based on the Vedas, the Ramayana, the Mahabharata and the Puranas. His surviving works consist of three plays, two epic poems and two shorter poems.
Shankar Dayal Sharma
G. Sankara Kurup, better known as Mahakavi G, was an Indian poet, essayist and literary critic of Malayalam literature. Known as one of the greats of Malayalam poetry, he was the first recipient of the Jnanpith Award―the highest Indian literary honor. He served as a nominated member of the Rajya Sabha from 1968 to 1972 and received the Padma Bhushan, the third highest Indian civilian award, in 1967. He was also a recipient of Sahitya Akademi Award, Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award and Soviet Land Nehru Award.
Gopaldas Neeraj was an Indian poet and author of Hindi literature. He was also a poet of Hindi Kavi sammelan. He was born in the village of Puravali, near Mahewa in Etawah district in Uttar Pradesh, India on 4 January 1925. He wrote under the pen name "Neeraj".
Palanati Brahmanaidu is a 2003 Telugu Action film produced by Medikonda Murali Krishna on Venkata Ramana Productions banner and directed by B. Gopal. Starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, Arti Agarwal, Sonali Bendre in the lead roles and music composed by Mani Sharma. The film recorded as flop at box office. The film was dubbed into Hindi as Bhavani: The Tiger in 2006. The story was earlier adapted into a Kannada film titled Raja Narasimha - sans the train stopping sequence - which released six weeks before this movie.
Panayanthitta Kunhiraman Nair, also known as Mahakavi P, was an Indian writer of Malayalam literature. He was known for his romantic poems which detailed the natural beauty of his home state of Kerala in southern India as well as the realities of his life and times. He received the inaugural Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Poetry in 1959. He was also a recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award.
Gulab Khandelwal was an Indian poet who wrote poetry in different forms such as Lyrics, Sonnets, Rubais (Quatrains), Dohas (Couplets), Odes, Elegies, Lyrical Ballads, Epics, Poetic Dramas, Ghazals, and Masnavi with equal felicity. He even introduced some of these forms into Hindi literature and, apart from Hindi, has also written poetry in Urdu and English. The span of his poetic language touches upon Sanskrit on one end and Urdu on the other. Gulab Khandelwal died in Ohio on 2 July 2017.
Adurthi Subba Rao was an Indian film director, cinematographer, screenwriter, editor and producer known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema, bollywood, and Tamil cinema. Rao is widely regarded as the intellectual fountain head of Indian drama films. He has garnered seven National Film Awards. Rao made his foray into cinema as Associate to Uday Shankar in the 1948 dance film Kalpana, which was showcased in the "Treasures from National Film Archive of India" at the 39th International Film Festival of India. The 1960 film Nammina Bantu was a work of drama in the broader sense achieved by means of actors who represented mimesis throughout the narrative. The film was simultaneously shot in Tamil as Pattaliyin Vetri. Upon release both versions received critical acclaim. The Telugu work was screened at the San Sebastián International Film Festival. The film also won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu for that year.
Mahakavi Kalidasu is 1960 Telugu biographical film, based on the life of Kālidāsa produced by K. Nagamani and P. Suri Babu under the Sarani Productions banner and directed by Kamalakara Kameswara Rao. It stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Sriranjani jr in the lead roles and music composed by Pendyala Nageswara Rao. The film is a remake of the Kannada movie Mahakavi Kalidasa (1955) which also remade in Tamil in as Mahakavi Kalidas (1966).
Chandrawal is a 1984 Haryanvi film. It is the third Haryanavi-language film to be released and the first financially successful one. Written by Late. Shri Devi Shankar Prabhakar, produced by Usha Sharma and directed by Jayant Prabhaker, the film's music was arranged by J. P. Kaushik. Starring dancer Usha Sharma, the film tells the story of a tragic love affair between Chandrawal, a girl of the Gadia Lohar community, and Suraj, a haryanavi Jat Boy. It was released in March 1984 and became very successful, spurred on by a popular soundtrack. A sequel is in development and will be produced by Usha Sharma and directed by Nishant Prabhakar.
Nathuram Sharma, better known by his pen-name Mahakavi Shankar, (1859–1932) was a Hindi and Urdu poet from Harduaganj, Aligarh, North-Western Provinces, British India. He worked with the Irrigation Department at Kanpur and subsequently as an Ayurvedic physician. His poetic works are primarily in the dialects of Braj Bhasha and Khariboli. He was a writer of Modern Period.
Hari Shankar Sharma (1891–1968) was a Hindi and Urdu poet from Harduaganj, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India.

Girija Shankar Sharma is a historian and scholar of Rajasthani as well as Hindi language literature. He received a Master of Arts (M.A.) in History from Dungar College and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. He joined the Rajasthan State Archives (Bikaner) in 1963 and retired as Deputy Director of the Archives in 1996.
Kripa Shankar Sharma was a Hindi poet from Morena, Madhya Pradesh.
Bal Krishna Sharma, known under the nome de plume Naveen, was an Indian freedom activist, journalist, politician and a poet of Hindi literature. He was a member of the 1st Lok Sabha, representing Kanpur constituency and served the Rajya Sabha as a member from 1957 till his death. He succeeded Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi as the editor of Pratap daily and also served as a member of the Official Languages Commission. His poetry anthologies include Kumkum, Rashmirekha, Apalak, Kwasi, Vinoba Stavan, Urmila and Hum Vishpaee Janam Ke, the last one published posthumously. The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan, in 1960, for his contributions to literature. India Post issued a commemorative stamp on Sharma in 1989.

Prior to the begin of the series, a curtain raiser of the series was aired on Oct 28, 2016. It aims to bring to the audience life-story, poems and never-seen-before facts about legendary Indian poets. The weekly programme chronicles the life sketch of ten Hindi poets of twentieth century.
