Infinite Carcass is the debut studio album by American hardcore punk band Girlfight. It was released on October 16, 2010, via indie record label Emerald Moon Records.
After the release of Ghost Eater, the band met with Chris Owen (Breather Resist, Coliseum, Ed Gein) to help make the band's debut studio album. Infinite Carcass was intended to be a full-length, and then accidentally wasn't due to the songs being short. "We'd be like, 'This song is done... sh*t, it's only a minute long,'" recalls Watt. Vocalist Dave Watt points the band’s direction towards its predecessors, like Every Time I Die and Gallows.
Infinite Carcass was the first project that the band has felt was serious "For a week our whole lives were this record. Usually you're recording with some dudes in Pittsburgh over five weekends. "All we did was record, play hacky sack and eat noodles."
The album was recorded and mixed by Chris Owens at Headbanging Kill Your Mama Music, mastered by Bill Henderson at Azimuth Mastering. The artwork was made by Dave Watt, Bradon Volkman, and Bats For Supper designs. The band made a CD release show at Hot Metal Bridge Church, on October 16, 2010.
A music video was made for the track "Doom Route" on March 14, 2011, it was filmed by Death Perception Pictures.

The album received mixed to positive reviews outlets.
PUC Chronicles had a overwhelming positive stance on the album saying "This album, though, packs quite a punch and with a lot of substance. Songs like “Doom Route” and “Sick Day” seem to epitomize the band and their ability to intertwine angular, off-time parts with standard metered, traditional hardcore. This album can definitely serve as an “introduction to hardcore-punk music.” [1]
The Pittsburgh Scene was also positive "All of the songs flow perfectly, leaving the listener with absolutely no downtime to recuperate and prepare for the next track. Girlfight provides an arsenal of their signature blistering-speed short songs, with the longest track coming in just under two minutes." [2]
RockFreaks was mixed "The record is too short and the songs similarly chaotic to each other for me to come up with much more in this review, but just check the for the fans of section and make a decision to check these guys out." [3]
The Pittsburgh City Paper was pleased with the effort "The sense of compression is palpable. Like some airborne toxin, it doesn't take extended exposure to Infinite Carcass to contract the rousing anxiety it radiates." [4]

Grindcore is an extreme fusion genre of heavy metal and hardcore punk that originated in the mid-1980s, drawing inspiration from abrasive-sounding musical styles, such as thrashcore, crust punk, hardcore punk, extreme metal, and industrial. Grindcore is considered a more noise-filled style of hardcore punk while using hardcore's trademark characteristics such as heavily distorted, down-tuned guitars, grinding overdriven bass, high-speed tempo, blast beats, and vocals which consist of growls, shouts and high-pitched shrieks. Early groups like Napalm Death are credited with laying the groundwork for the style. It is most prevalent today in North America and Europe, with popular contributors such as Brutal Truth and Nasum. Lyrical themes range from a primary focus on social and political concerns, to gory subject matter and black humor.
Camper Van Beethoven is an American rock band formed in Redlands, California in 1983, later based in Santa Cruz and San Francisco. Their style mixes elements of pop, ska, punk, folk, alternative, country, and world music, amongst other genres. The band initially polarized audiences within the hardcore punk scene of California's Inland Empire and then found wider acceptance and, eventually, an international audience. Their strong iconoclasm and emphasis on do-it-yourself values proved influential to the burgeoning indie rock movement.
Heartwork is the fourth studio album by English extreme metal band Carcass. The album was released in the UK by Earache Records on 18 October 1993, and in the United States on 11 January 1994 by Columbia Records, making it the band's only major label release. Heartwork has been described as the band's "breakthrough" and "mid-period masterpiece", as well as a landmark album in melodic death metal. The album was recorded at Parr Street Studios, Liverpool from 18 May – 21 June 1993.

If You Swear, You'll Catch No Fish is the second full-length album by the Canadian hardcore punk band SNFU. It was recorded in April 1986 at Power Zone Studio in Edmonton, Alberta—although the album's liner notes claim the studio is located in Istanbul, Turkey—and was released on BYO Records in 1986. More diverse than their debut album, If You Swear, You'll Catch No Fish helped solidify SNFU's status in the North American hardcore punk community and influenced the formation of the skate punk subgenre.
Codeseven was formed in 1995 as a melodic hardcore band in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Their first "official" release, A Sense of Coalition (1998) gained popularity on college radio stations for a cover of Don Henley's "The Boys of Summer".
Earthtone9 is an English metal band from Nottingham, England.
Cancer Bats are a Canadian hardcore punk band from Toronto, Ontario. To date, they have released seven studio albums and six extended plays; with their most recent LP, Psychic Jailbreak, having been released on 15 April 2022. The band is currently composed of lead vocalist Liam Cormier, drummer Mike Peters and bassist/guitarist Jaye R. Schwarzer. The band are also currently joined by touring guitarist Jackson Landry, following the departure of founding guitarist Scott Middleton in 2021. Cancer Bats take a wide variety of influences from heavy metal sub-genres and fuse them into hardcore and punk rock, and also include elements of Southern metal. Their sound has been likened to sludge metal, as well as to that of metalcore bands such as Converge and Hatebreed. The members of Cancer Bats have also toured and recorded as a Black Sabbath tribute band under the name Bat Sabbath.
Impending Doom is an American Christian deathcore band from Riverside, California. The group has released six full-length studio albums and are currently a four piece with lead vocalist Brook Reeves as one of the two original remaining members along with Manny Contreras who left the band in 2010 but returned in 2012. The band refers to their style of music as "gorship" - a portmanteau of the words gore and worship.
Stoner rock, also known as stoner metal or stoner doom, is a rock music fusion genre that combines elements of doom metal with psychedelic rock and acid rock. The genre emerged during the early 1990s and was pioneered foremost by Kyuss and Sleep.
Surgical Steel is the sixth full-length album by British extreme metal band Carcass. The album was released on 13 September 2013 in Europe, 16 September in the UK, and 17 September in North America, via Nuclear Blast. Surgical Steel is Carcass' first studio album since Swansong (1996), and their first to feature Dan Wilding as the replacement of original drummer Ken Owen, although the latter does provide backing vocals on the album. This was also the band's first album since Symphonies of Sickness (1989) to be recorded as a three-piece, and their first one to reach the Top 50 in UK album charts.

Spark Is a Diamond was an American hardcore punk band formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in summer of 2006. It combined punk and hardcore with heavy dance beats and alternating female/male vocals. The group originally consisted of three members: vocalist Alison Bellavance, guitarist/vocalist Matt Boylan, and drummer Matt Hall. Hall left the band in 2007 and was soon replaced by Joseph Crawford. The band features former members from bands such Fall River and Morning For The Masses. They were influenced by The Blood Brothers, Boy Crazy, and Cursive.
Emerald Moon Records is an American Independent record label, founded by Matt Boylan in Baltimore, Maryland in August 2004, they worked with many bands up until shutting down on October 3, 2012. The label primarily focuses on genres such as alternative rock, indie rock, pop punk, metalcore, post-hardcore, mathcore, hardcore Punk, emo, and screamo.
