History

Infobip was established in the Croatian town of Pula in 2006. [6] [7]

In 2014 and 2015, the company started its operations in Latin America and Asia-Pacific. [8] [9] [10]

In 2020, Infobip raised $200 million from One Equity Partners. Infobip's valuation thus surpassed $1 billion, making it the first Croatian unicorn company. [11] [12] During the same year, Infobip acquired OpenMarket, a company headquartered in Seattle, United States. [13]

In July 2022, Infobip finalized its acquisition of Peerless Network, a U.S.-based telecommunications provider founded in 2008. [14] In March 2023 Peerless was issued a Cease and Desist by the United States Federal Trade Commission citing their hosting of spam and scam callers. [15]

Campuses

In September 2017, the company opened its first high-tech campus, named Pangea, built on 17,000 square meters of land in Vodnjan, Croatia. [16]

In 2022, Infobip opened its second campus in Zagreb, called Alpha Centauri, designed by 3LHD architectural firm. [17] The 20,000 square meter Alpha Centauri campus, which was named after the star system closest to Earth, is located near Zagreb's Sveta Klara and Remetinec neighborhoods. [18]

The A2 motorway is a motorway in the Hrvatsko Zagorje region of northern Croatia, connecting Zagreb to the Macelj border crossing and Slovenia. The A2 motorway is part of the European route E59 and the Pan-European Corridor Xa. The motorway spans 59.2 kilometres (36.8 mi) between the Slovenian border and the Jankomir interchange within the Zagreb bypass, providing road connections to a number of cities and towns besides Zagreb, including Krapina, Zabok and Zaprešić. All sections of the motorway, except the northernmost one between the Macelj border crossing and Trakošćan, and the southernmost one near Zagreb, are tolled, using a closed toll collection system.

Kavak is a Mexican company that operates an online marketplace for used cars. With a valuation of $8.7 billion, Kavak was the second most valuable unicorn in Latin America as of September 2021. Kavak is based in Mexico City.

Airwallex is a multinational financial technology company offering financial services and software as a service (SaaS). Founded in 2015 in Melbourne, Australia and currently based in Singapore, the company is a financial technology platform providing cross-border payments and financial services to businesses through a proprietary banking network and its API. It also provides services and products such as business accounts, expense cards, and payroll, among others. It was Australia's third technology unicorn company overall. With a valuation of US$5.5 billion, as of 2022, the company processed $50 billion in annualized transactions.
